Detailing a landscaping trailer

I've got a job coming up for a local landscaping company. They have a few enclosed trailers that I need to detail before the snow flies. They are very large, probably 24' long and white in color...They aren't in that bad of shape but do need to have the gloss restored. I've actually never done a trailer before, and was curious if anyone here has any tips as far as product choice...As it stands right now, I will just be doing a quick light polish to bring the gloss back, maybe PB's Pro-Polish, then sealing it....I wouldn't be opposed to just doing a 1-step, as long as the results are up to par. I already have an idea on pricing, just looking for tips/products people like when working with these...Anybody with trailer experience please feel free to chime in!!:thanks

Just to get a general idea I would compare the trailers to this, although they may be a little bigger:

Meguiars d151 or similar product will work just fine to cut away light oxidation, restore awesome gloss, and leave behind some protection. I personally would use a pc with 5.5" Orange pads.

If you have a Rotary and the right pads for the result needed, it will be a long, boring, task but the result will be great. Just note that this product leaves a wax on there that is not typically long lasting, will this be ok with the Client?

If you have some Collenite 845 around that would be an awesome way to wax and protect the heck out of those trailers way better than the Meguiars product in D151.

Or, another option, depending on the condition of the paint, use a straight compound or polish, then apply a coating of your choice to protect the finish.

Good luck with this !

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I'll look into the D151....Do you see that as being more effective than Pro-Polish? They're white so correction ability is not an issue.

Long, boring with a rotary? What would you suggest?

Hey Bunky ! How you doing ?

The only thing that can make this not so boring is probably a good Ipod music playlist and some awesome Westone headphones ! :)

Not trying to belittle or discount the task, last time I had to do this to bunch of white vans for a Roofing Company, I was glad to be set up as I just said - Rotary, good compound, great music !

Take care, Al !
