Detailing a car with a carbon fiber hood.

I have this car with a carbon fiber hood. I know my plan of attack on the painted panels, but should I change it when I attack the hood?

Should I be using a PC on it or not? I hear people telling me to use boat wax. Is there even a difference?

The carbon fiber hood is brand new. I was thinking of just hand-applying #26 on it.
