Detailers stealing other detailers pics.

I came across this by accident. Honest. I was looking in the twin cities area for a detailer and found a good one for a fellow club member.

Here's his ad.

Reflections Auto Detailing -special promotion through July

As I looked at it I noticed cars I had seen before. Sadly it was from someone that lived close to me here in MI.

ATTENTION AUTO OWNERS! DON'T PAY $50 FOR AN AUTO DETAIL!!

So this guy in Holland stole the pics from detailer in Minneapolis.

So be careful. I know some of our work may NOT be copyrighted, but still isn't right to steal them.

That is pretty cheap. It doesn't look like he is using Dan's pictures for his website, just the craigslist ads. :suspicious:

Dan works pretty hard to get those pictures and it just seems sleazy to claim someone else's work.

In other news, there's a war in the middle east, it's raining in the UK, the prices of oil and gold are up and......

Have you ever seen photographs or write-ups of vehicles you've detailed on websites other than your own, used without your permission? Protect written works or photographs from being used by others without your permission wither or not they are being used for monetary gain

Watermarking Photographs

[‘Sharing photos, especially if you will be posting them online or emailing them, you never know what will happen to them. Someone could take the photos for their own use, and you might never even know. Here is a simple step-by-step tutorial on protecting images by watermarking your photos (How to Watermark Your Photos - Learn Tips for Watermarking Your Photos)

[While there are many ways to protect images, watermarking is probably the most effective. Several other methods, such as right-click disabling and adding a transparent gif image file on top, both have a work-around that the experienced photo-stealer knows or they are time-consuming.

Put your watermark in several locations. If it’s on a vehicle, put it over a curved line, as they present a challenge when removing and cloning the underneath. Another good place is an obvious colour blend/change]

One guy stole Joe's (Superior Shine) pictures including one with Joe and his van with the company name clearly visible.

The guy must have removed it now because I don't see it now. Did you let Dan know about it? If not I will call him and give him the heads up. :2thumbs:

I have a real big detailer supplier right now hooked into my "Paintxpert" handle on the web. If you search "Paintxpert" he uses MY ENTIRE PHOTO GALLERY to his benefit!!!! How is THAT for toppers. Thats OK. I never get hot under the collar.....it just doesnt make sense. After all, they all want my reputation, that I spent over FORTY long years building. That doesnt mean that it doesnt P--- me off. Because I have spent decades trying to be creative getting word around about my business and what I do. REMEMBER! In the end......IT ALL COMES OUT IN THE WASH! A lesson from my Sicilian father. He taught me many!

Dont worry, a business ruled by the almighty buck is destined to be beckoned by the devil. Any effort not worth your salt. Do you know how many people have stolen my business name throughout the years!!!! MULTITUDES.....only to FAIL. I let it ALL roll off. You have to. Ignorance is bliss.

My plates are all in the stolen pics as well. One says DETAILER, BUFF.IT, DETALR, I.Detail. These are clearly my plates on the pics he is using. You have to admit....It does take B-LLS! Brass ones. I just WOULD NEVER DO THAT! That is why I am at peace and laugh it off! Have a great night! Paintxpert.

For anyone who knows I'm from Hudsonville, this is not me :becky:

However, I can see his shop from my house. If anyone has questions I can go over and ask him. I think I'll get a quote from him to correct my car just for kicks and giggles.

A guy stole my whole website. I kid you not, he even duplicated the shots taken of my in specific positions and using specific tools.

Found it: eyecandidetailing(had to edit due to him redirecting to a gay porn site) haha what a loser. Check out the FAQ, it is practically identical to my FAQ....like the rest of the site....

I looked at your site first, then clicked the link to the site you mentioned above.

It comes up with a "Competitor Redirect" and redirects to a gay porn site :puke:

That is NOT COOL.

Ah...he did that once before about a year ago when he realized that I was on to him. I checked it right before posting and he must have just "fixed" it to that that after I posted it. If someone were to click and get redirected while a child was looking over their shoulder he could be in for a serious lawsuit.

I was browsing youtube looking at videos and ran across one I thought was amusing to say the least. It was a detail on a bmw where the guys said he wet sanded and buffed the whole car. He was in a driveway with grass growing up in a neighborhood that didn't look very upscale. I glanced over his other videos and they were of a hummer and a few bmw's and chevy trucks and so forth. Well there was a link to his website for his detailing business so I went to it. On the gallery I found pictures of Aston Martin's, BMW's, Audi's, Bugatti, Porshe, Corvette, Ferrari Enzo, Mayback, SLR McLaren. These pictures were taken at VERY nice upscale houses which is to be expected. I just don't understand why someone wouldn't put pictures of their actual work instead of taking pictures that were found when searching for those exact models of vehicles. I think I would have the high end cars on my youtube videos and not the average daily drivers. Not saying he didn't do a decent job but dang...why put pictures up of vehicles you didn't actually touch. You know the people that get your business card and go to your site want to see something you have actually done.

You guys can judge for yourselves. Here is the link to the video:

I like around the 6 min mark. He starts talking about putting the time in and how to build your website and how to gain TRUST with your customers. I like 7 min 20 seconds too. I always have trouble with my wax melting off after 7 to 10 days and sagging.

And here is the link to the website:

Georges Mobile Detailing

Check out the pictures of the Carerra. The building says EDO Competition on it as well as the plate. Now go to this website and look at the photo gallery of their carerra.

If you want to get him really good - then give him some reviews on google, yelp, yellow pages and others... the reviews should be about integrity ask him why he feels it necessary to steal/clone your website and ask prospective customers if this is the detailer they want to do business with?

What I want to know is how does one wet-sand windows? I also noted some dried product within the seams in several areas. Just washed the vehicle but didn't bother getting those watermarks off on the left side which I might add looks like it contains some dirt. Shop up and running and already wet sanding....He looks and sounds young but I don't know how long he's been cracking at it. Also looks to me as there's still orange peel to be reckoned with thru out the car. I'm not even gonna comment on the wax bit. No sun shots and no shots with a decent flashlight for proof of defect removal. All in all I'm not very impressed but I'm not going to dog him out just yet as he seems to be new at the game.

He's from Pa too so I just might have to drop him a line and guide him over here and show him just how we roll!!

Sorry....at work doing quality control on patient reports.....I'm in ultra nit picking mode!
