Detailers heaven in So Cal?

Is there a shop with a variety of products in So Cal? I've found that I have to go to a number of different places to get my favourite products, its not a big deal, but it sure would be nice for a one stop shopping. I know I am dreaming but what the heck.

Thanks for the info. Quite a drive from the Torrance area, I will have to figure out if its just cheaper shipping or driving to pick up what I need.

A good time to go might be during one of their detailing clinics. Of course, they're not going to teach you anything that hasn't already been stated a hundred times here on Autopia, but I hear they are quite fun and give out free samples. I plan to go on a day they demonstrate the use of a rotary buffer.

The only problem with going to this detailing clinic is, yes its neat to get free stuff, but it'll cost you $75 for the fun and the free stuff I don't think will add up to $75. Just my feeling. :D

Is someone a newbie to So Cal???

Most people I know there drive an hour for a good salad. I would drive from Laguna Niguel to Santa Monica to go to a comedy club. I'd go to Venice for jazz. I'd drive to the Valley for a decent car show.

Torrance to Costa Mesa is 30-40 minutes. It's not like you're driving to Idaho. 405 south to 55 south turn left on 21st St, turn left on access road. It's on your right.

lol Bret!

The way I figure it, most places in LA take 30-40 minutes to get to anyways and whenever I hop in my car, I figure I'll spend at least an hour driving before I get back home. My wife, who's from the East coast, is starting to fit in real nicely here in Los Angeles. She regularly makes me drive 45 minutes (one way) to have dinner at her favorite restaurant in Brentwood.

bcgreen, some of the clinics cost money, but aren't a lot of them free too?

Meguiars clinic (in Irvine, CA) should be free (at least the last one I went to was free). They are VERY generous on the free sample supplies they give you as well! The instructor of last event Mr. Mike Phillips is very knowledeable as well! Hands on experience on just about everything. Rotary, orbital, polishes, glaze, cleaner/wax, clay, electronic thickness gauge, etc... While a lot of stuffs are probably known for a typical autopian already, but I believe you WILL learn something. :xyxthumbs

I'm going to have to check out Carnuba store in Costa Mesa soon.

I don't mind traveling for a good dinner or brunch. Heck a nice 2 hour drive is fine, but somehow if its for a couple of items that may cost between $15-20 then you have to ask your self, gee it cost me about $11 to go pick it up myself. Something just doesn't feel right about this. Some of us complain when an item goes from $14 to $24 but yet don't mind putting wear and tear on our vehicles and who knows what yahoo decides to run into after you've spent the last 4 weekends getting the car's paint in concourse condition, all this over buying a few items. I am not complaining mind you, I do similar things all the time. I've been to the Mequiar's clinic before, some 3 or 4 years ago, but they didn't have samples(free) then. Now that I have used their products I am interested in some of the other products that are not as readily available that most people here think highly of. Luckily I have a Harley shop near by and have been able to get the S100. The Klasse and Zano is a little bit harder. The Zano I had to take a slight diversion on my way home and it took 2 hours to get home instead of the 45 min. Anyway I will stop by the Carnuba shop whenever I am on my way to San Diego, which seems to make more sense.
