Well I have been having a bad streak lately with health which isn`t good. Sunday I was finishing up reinstalling the lower and upper intake manifold on my Grand Prix GT and my back let go. Ended up having some bad back pain. So I was managing it and then came down with that dreaded norovirus yesterday afternoon. My wife ended up getting me to the hospital to get some IV fluids since I was very dehydrated from emptying my body.

As I type this I am feeling a bit better but unfortunately I can`t take anything right now for my back so that`s bothering bad.

Wish me luck with a speedy recovery!

Hope you get better quickly, all these bugs going around this winter have been brutal. Worst season I can remember everyone has been sick and a lot people have had it off and on one thing or another for 2-3 months, Flu, Cold,Stomach Bug, Bronchitis/pneumonia, and on and on.

Also getting older sucks, back problems, shoulder problems, knee problems, foot problems. Wait till you start hurting yourself sleeping. Best and least invasive thing so far thats worked for me is massage therapy. Makes a huge difference in most of my back and shoulder pain. Stretching helps also for me, I am sure doing yoga or palates would help but I like massages and I dont mind doing stretches at home once a week (probably should do it a lot more I think my major problem is lack of limberness) or so.

Feel better :pray::pray:... I feel your pain. my back has been out since `85 taking care of it is a daily chore.

I also may have re-broken my foot last night :( .. Had a Jones Fracture some years ago and it may never have healed :wall

Get better man, health and injury are always in the back of my mind since it`s how we make our money. At least you`re getting it out of your system now before the spring cleanings get here!

Get well, fellow Autopian. Your reviews and postings are greatly appreciated by myself.

How did the hospital diagnose your condition as having the norovirus and what medication(s) (if any) did the hospital give you for treating the norovirus?? Are you having any lingering side effects from it?
Without sounding like a nosy person (which I am!) and violating HIPPA patient-confidentiality laws (which I have!) my concern is that many people have this, thinking it is a common flu or bad cold and it goes undiagnosed or self-treated with over-the-counter medications or worse, self-treated with antibiotics obtained from "friends" or purchased at veterinary or farm supply places. (Yes, animal antibiotics can and are purchased and consumed by people. It`s just that they may not meet strict FDA guidelines for pharmaceutical-grade "purity", since doctors are very reluctant to prescribe antibiotics these days, and rightly so with all the antibiotic-resistant bacteria and diseases strains mutating today.)

Thanks again everyone for the support and well wishes!

So luckily I am able to answer this due to my son just having the actual Flu. For the Flu you run a fever, body aches, some vomiting and or diarrhea can happen. Luckily nowadays they can test for the actual Flu virus with a simple swab test up the nose. My son tested positive and I tested negative and didn`t present a fever. If you do test positive they have an anti viral now called tamaflu that works wonders.

With the nurovirus or gastroenteritis there`s no real test. It hits you like a ton of bricks and usually within 24hrs is gone. The danger is dehydration which I was. I was pale and could barely move. Unfortunately besides fluids and some anti nausea meds there`s not much they can do accept let it run its course. Thankfully as I type this my energy is coming back although my appetite is a bit wishy washy. The hospital did run a full blood panel to make sure it wasn`t an underlying cause. Once my labs came back good and my IV fluids were done I was discharged. Last year I got the same thing but didn`t need to seek help. This year was more severe.

Be glad you got good veins.

I wonder if thats what I had back around the first of the year. I had diarrhea like I have never before 2 days straight every 15-30 minutes. middle of the second day I though I felt a little better tried having soup only to run to bathroom puking half way through eating it. I thought it was just worst stomach bug id ever had, thats what norovirus basically is super bad stomach bug.
