DETAILED: Volvo S80 (dead on my feet)

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
Had a detail this morning. Volvo S80. Was disappointed when I got to the ladies place of business. It was not on asphalt or concrete, but on chat(sp?)
Very dust conditions. Temp. today was suposed to be in the low 90's, but the thermostat on the car said 107* Felt like it too. I was not happy with the outcome by far. Too much dust. And to top it off, my 5 gallon cooler of water tipped over and spilled out.....Grrrrrrrrrrr.

There I was, soaked in sweat and ready to just fall out at any moment...LOL
As soon as I was done, storm clouds rolled in......It rained about 5 minutes after I left, so I gave her a free wash anytime. She also purchased my "Continued Service Pan" (3 months, bi-weekly washes). Which tacked on a couple hundred more bucks to the bill.....:D

I did not get any interior afters. I totally spaced. I was so friggen hot and dazed, I wonder how I managed to get home....
Not too many exterior shots either..... Sun went behind the clouds and a storm was coming....didn't cool off though...LOL

Process:
De-Trash the interior.....
clean all panels with Megs APC 1:4
Leather seats with Megs APC 1:10
Glass with IG
Carpets and mats with Kids n Pets

Wash with QEW
Rims with Megs Wheel Brightener
Tires with SG 1:5 - dressed with Purple Dressing (car brite)
Wells with SG 1:5 - dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 1:4
Engine with SG and Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 1:4
SSR 2.5 with Green Edge PAD via PC speed 6
SSR 1 with Blue Edge PAD via PC speed 6
EX Sealant
Trim dressed with Black Magic (trying to use it up)

I'm sure I missed a few steps somewhere in there.......

She wants me to do her HOUSE BOAT. 35 or 38 feet...3 stories tall....
I have to see this thing....sounds like a couple days of work...LOL

Nice work texas. If the boat looks anything like the interior of the volvo it might be a couple of weeks out at sea :stick . the wheel shots look sharp.

Only the exterior of the boat needs to be done she says.....I have no idea WTF a house bost looks like.....But I can already tell it is going to be close to a grand

Great Job Chris!! The paint is wet and glossy. I sympathize with you on the gravel issue. I had to do 2 cars on gravel once. I know it sucks..

Great job upselling your extended plan, I wish I could lol.

Thanks....It was my first sell on my plans.....
I knew she would bite. She was expecting the detail to be close to 300 itself without the plan. She said she owns a travel agency, and the place she was working...a mobile home sales lot. Said she is leaving for 3 weeks to France....must be nice. She said her and her BF are psyched about the boat being done......I actually cannot wait. Think I may hire day labor depending on what it looks like. Should be able to go look at it Monday....They were headed out for the weekend on it........

..
Car looks great.
Hope that houseboat is a 55 footer :D

Good job, Chris!!

Have never detailed a Volvo. It would seem like they are nice vehicles. All the tiny little surfaces on the wheels would drive me crazy.

Congratulations on your marketing first. Now all the owner has to do is network with a few clients and you have started the best advertisement there is.....Word of mouth.

Well done. Man, you've come across some real challenges lately. I'm afraid to open your posts because it makes my back sore (LOL).

Good job man, I know how it is to work in the hot sun like that, but looks like you went in there and got it done, I'm still a little curious to see how the interior turned out, that car looked trashed!

Hey Chris, nice work there and man what hit the interior a trash truck!!

The car came out great now lets see how long it stays that way...

If anyone thinks detailing it easy spend the day on a car like this working your butt off and after cleaning everything up and putting it away tell me how you feel then....!! :yourrock

Dang this in an old thread! lol
Took me a minute to recognize the thread title. Thanks for the compliments!
I have no idea what I used on it to be honest. haha
