Yes!! Len_A actually does detail cars. Here's proof (LOL!!)! It my wife's 2002 Ford Escape XLT, color Ford calls Satin Silver.

Photos here!! Finally fixed the darn link!!

Even though I detailed this as soon as my wife bought it last October (Meguiar's No. 20), I decided that, since I was BORED, that it need it's 12,500 mile detail job.

After washing with Gold Class Shampoo, I went over all the exterior plastic with Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer. That actually took longer than polishing the paint! All that plastic body cladding, the mirror housing, the luggage rack, the door handles, the step bars (except the actual step parts), all the rubber trim around the door windows & windshield, the rain gutters on the roof, and rear hatch trim.

I broke out the PC, and the Lake Country/CMA pads, and went over the paint one panel at a time with No. 9 2.0 with a white pad, wiping them down with a microfiber cloth, and then got out the dark grey pads, and went over the whole truck's paint with Meguiar's No. 20 Poly Sealant, and with the second grey pad topped the No. 20 with Medallion Premium Paint Protection, just for the heck of it.

I detailed the tires with Endurance High Gloss, and used some old (and very oily) Armor All tire dressing to detail the wheel housings. All the wheels were waxed with No. 20. I sprayed the black grill with No. 40 and blew out the excess with compressed air. Then I wiped down all the exterior plastic with a dry cotton terry cloth to take off the excess Trim Detailer.

After I finished that, I broke out yet another microfiber cloth, and the FI, and wiped down the paint. The glass got cleaned with Turtle Wax ClearVue and another microfiber cloth (you can't have too many!!).

I'm wiped and heading for the shower!! Whatcha y'all think?

You are good....close to Livonia - actually Westland. You know how it goes dealing proffessionally with out-of-staters - "Livonia? Canton? Novi? Huh?!?? Oh!! DEE-Troit!!" LOL! Gawd, the crap we put up with in metro Detroit!

yup - I get the suburbs mixed up myself sometimes just because there seem to be so many of them included in "metro detroit".... but atleast I mostly know what ones exist....

but you're right, as far as dealing with out-of-staters, just hold up your palm and point to the detroit area - say, "Its right here!!" :D

BTW - back on topic, what did you use on those tires, anyways??

Looks great! The tires and trim are especially impressive! Wow!

Thanks!! That trim is an especially intense P.I.T.A. Except for the rubber trim around the window, all of it, and I mean all of it is that pebble grain plastic, so if I don't use up a third of a bottle of Trim Detailer before I start polishing and waxing, I'll end up with the detailing project from hell, trying to clean them up.

On the tires I used Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss, and I detailed the wheels with Meguiar's No. 20. I'm a big Meguiar's user (in case you couldn't tell!!).

I know in previous posts, I said I had bad luck with Medallion, but it seems to be a good topper with No. 20, especially since apparently the cleaner in No. 20 prevents us from layering No. 20 (hey, you bozos from Meguiar's tech support, ya payin' any attention here???).

Looks terrific, Len. Great job!!!! :xyxthumbs

Thanks!! I really like the way it came out, and at least I know my wife appreciates it!!:D

The next one to get done (and get some pictures posted) will be my Taurus. It may only be a '96 Taurus, but the green metallic looks great after I detail it.
