Beautiful Saturday in Kansas City so I spent it detailing my GS-R. I used Vanilla Moose hand glaze (amazing stuff...I love it) and followed it with S100. I also used S100 on the wheels. Here are the results:

Very nice. :bigups Had the radio on, did ya? lol I don't know why they still put the antennas on the coupes when they took them off the sedans. That just urks me. Still, that is a sweet looking car. Very ncie. :bow

GS-R Jay,

That is one S w e e t ride! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I love the OEM bodykit! :D

Also, that is a great detail! Keep it up!

You may want to try Souveran wax for that Sweet Red Paint!

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series

Is your antenna the type that just screws out?

Nope. They are the motorized kind. Major pain and notorious for self destructing after 4 or 5 years. The fact that his still works is a tribute to incredible luck or some secret trick that only he knows. ;)

I like that body style as well. Very clean! :up

Personally, I am not a fan of the "Purple Goo" tire gel. Give me Zaino Tire Dressing, Eagle One Satin or Vinylex over that stuff anyday.

The S100 may not last long protecting the wheels. You should try something with better heat resistance. Use a polymer sealant such as Klasse or others. Even the cheapey "orange bottled wonder" found at K-Mart will work for wheels.;)

Hey guys...

I have the Endurance tire gel, but I rarely use it because I hate when that stuff slops all over the fenders.

Yeah that is Bishop Miege HS and St. Agnes in the background :D I live near there and it has nice flat ground for taking pics.

I would love to do the S2000 antenna conversion. Is it pretty easy to do? To be honest I never really pay attention to my antenna :D

BTW I LOVE this Vanilla Moose stuff. After seeing my car again today I can't believe how clean and swirl-free the paint looks. I don't know what I would do without autopia.org.

with regards to the s2000 antenna conversion, i have one myself on my itr. it looks great and is very easy to install.

user asahi and rstor are the ones who developed it.

back on topic:

great job on the detail! red cars look great when done right!

:up

kepani-who notices the itr front lip ;)

My dad has a motorized antenna on his 1982 VW Scirrocco. Still works like it is brand new, even when the car has been neglected for many years (father is a busy man).

Its mainly the Integra motorized antennas that I was talking about. My wife's Accord had one that lasted 10 years before it finally fritzed out. I'm sure they can make them to last, but for some reason the ones on the Integras are problems. They didn't put that type of antenna on the sedans after 98 I think. I know my teg doesn't have one and my wife's 99 Accord doesn't have one either. Its in the rear window somewhere (thankfully).

I have a 01 GSR and did the antenna switch mod not to long ago. IMHO, I think it is much better than the s2k antenna conversion for 3 reasons. 1) all you have to buy is the switch (2$ cheap) 2) it would retain your radio reception and 3) it only take 5mins to do!! If you want to see a picture of my antenna & switch pm me :-)
