Bigron62,
Very nice job! Don't you just hate doing older cars like that? It is pretty rewarding though when its done because of the remarkable improvements. Do you always tape off molding?

thanks.. i always tape off moulding i think i could touch with the buffer. i think its worth my time because it allows me to wax right up to the trim and i never have to clean up trim .. im trying out this spray dressing and its a real time saver .. making up for the time i spend masking .. im figuring out how the dealers crank out the cars so fast ... hint... they dont spend all day with dressing and a sponge . they use aerosol polish and quick detailer to do jambs and moulding ..the dressing on the tires is solvent based and i spray the wheels with it too.. really gives them some kick ..

The thing about jeeps is that they all look the same - the only way to reason one jeep is newer than another is the condition. You just made this jeep 5-10 years newer!

i dont know what would be comparable to p&s ultracoat polish .. ive only used p&s .. from what i read poorboys or 4 star make polishises like this. removes light scratches. has some filling properties and brightens the paint dramatically.. i wouldnt wax a car without using this polish first .. it is THE product that gives the results i get ...ive also learned from trial & error that older black paint jobs that have blemishes and other problems look better with a carnuba .. gives a darker tone and doesn't show these problems as much. i use p&s because it gets delivered to my doorstep by my local distributor . and its good stuff .. otherwise id be using the same stuff as everyone else here

Bigron,
Thanks for the info. Another question: Do you use Caranubas on all older and/or less than perfect finishes or just darker colors?

Eric

i like to use polymer sealer on bright colors or light colors ..it lasts longer and i really like the shine ..but the black cars look better with carnuba i think ..cars like the fords with that candy apple red color. mustangs mostly and other colors like that really pop with polymer..real clear & bright ...
