Detailed: 2004 Chevy SSR...Supercharged

This is vehicle #2 from collection that brought me the Carrera detail. This SSR was one of the first produced and had the 327 as the power plant. Not wanting to part with this one for the more powerful recent model, the owner opted to supercharge it. This, along with exhaust and computer mods aided it to putting down 400+ hp to ground. He later had a good friend paint on the flames and wet sand the entire vehicle a year ago. This left an amazing finish and other than some washing induced marring, it was defect free.

I apologize for lack of after shots. It began to rain as my day ended.

Detail Description:
Exterior Detail with paint correction and protection.

Goal:
To remove any paint defects present and achieve the highest possible gloss/depth.

Wash Cycle:
Dawn Wash (2 oz. per 2 gallons of water)
Meguiar's Gold Class
Clayed using Meguiar's Last touch 1:1

Paint Correction:
Meguiar's 205 via G110 using Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing Pad

After a lot of inspection, this was all that was needed to refine the paint. This is the beauty of 205 and most paints.

Paint Protection:
Meguiar's 21 2.0 by hand using Meguiar's hand applicators.
Final gloss was aided by Optimum's Instant Detailer. Such a wonderful product.

Wheel Protection:
Meguiar's 21 2.0 by hand using Meguiar's hand applicators.

Tire Protection:
Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel

Time accumulated:
7 hours
Even though the paint was in pristine condition, there is a lot of it on this ride. The bed cover is enormous. There is also a ton of painted interior surfaces that I protected and polished with Meguiar's D-151 Reconditioning Cream.

Also decided to take care of the SSR's engine bay....

Great job justin on the SSR, that engine bay looks sweet. Just got home from the PERFORMANCE RACING INDUSTRY Convention in Orlando Florida and there were so many engines performanace parts and great folks there also. BTW got to meet Hermann of Hermann Motorsports and a few members of the forum there..........Dana and Adam and my good friend Eric who drove there.

I have never been a big fan of the SSR's but great job on that one. Nice and glossly.

I really like Optimum's Instant Detailer as well. I used it on a car that had no wax or sealant what so ever and I was surprised how well it worked on it own. I saw the car in the rain a couple weeks later and there was some decent beeds.

Beautiful shine on that monster. The second to last shot with the window reflection in the hood shows the results of the wetsand effort. No perceptible orange peel and looks absolutely stunning. Must've been nice to work on.
