Detail by mshu7: 2004 Black Mazda3

Hey all! I did this detail over the weekend. It's a black '04 Mazda3. This guy is a member of the Mazda3 board that I frequent. He's a college student so his car doesn't get to see a lot of TLC since it sits outside all the time.

Process:

- Wash with NXT

- Clay with Meg's clay & DP 4-in-1 as lube

- Polish with PB's SSR line-up

- Protect with PB EX-P

- Final wipe down with Clearkote Quik Shine

Other Products Used:

- Meg's Quik Interior Detailer

- Meg's NXT Glass Cleaner

- Meg's High-Endurance

- Meg's Plast-X for headlights & taillights

- Meg's ScratchX to remove scuff marks on rear bumper cover

- 303 Aerospace Protectant

There were still some scratches, swirl marks, & water etching that I was unable to get out. Overall though, it turned out pretty good.

Very clear looking paint, great job :2thumbs: . I still use the SSR line once in a while, I sometimes forget how nice of job they do and how easy they are to use. The only down side is the dusting :( .

Thanks!!!

Yeah, besides the dusting I like the PB polishes. I think once I've finished my stock up, I'm going to switch to Optimum since there are so many good things said about them.

I have both lines. I would keep the SSR line as I find it works better on some paints via PC. You could try adding a little OP to any SSR polishes to cut down on the dusting. I some times mix a little SSR3 with OHC with great results. Once i start using my rotary I my not use the SSR line anymore but we will have to wait and see. SSR polishes are very good and easy to use. I just ordered some Menzerna FPII as it is suppose to be an even better finishing polish than OP.

Looks really good!

Just a tip, use your old washmitt that you won't use on paint, and scrub that frame-rail underneath the sideskirt... Cleaning that makes the car look brand new

Also some fender-well dressing would make the wheels pop out a lot more, with a dark background

Looks good! :getdown

Thanks for the tips & compliments Stumpy!

I was noticing that fram-rail you were talking about. For cars that don't have much wheel gap, how exactly do you get a good application of dressing in the wheel well? Just spray till covered or what?
