Defining Details: black Mercury Milan - got scratches?

Mercury Milan V6

Background: Client bought this Mercury Milan a couple months ago. The previous owner had no interest in taking car of the car lol. This thing was a MESS, and was head to toe covered in swirls, marring, water etching and deep isolated scratches.

Time was limited to a single day with the car, so a FULL correction was not going to be possible with the condition it was in. I would say though that about a 95% correction was achieved; only thing remaining were a few serious isolated scratches which would have required wetsanding to remove. Not enough time for that, so here we go!

Due to time constraints, client opted to apply LSP himself so all pics are raw paint and clear.

Products Used:

Dawn Dishsoap

Meguiars clay

Optimum No Rinse

Meguiars M105

Optimum Polish II

what machine application was used?

Hey BigAl - PC, M105 + Orange was used for correction and PC, Optimum polish II + White pad were used to finish out.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Wish I had more time with this one; These are not sold in Canada so people dont see them too often... I wish I could have had another day with it... ah well!

Nice recovery. The Milan must have been an import since you can't get Mercury vehicles in Canada.

You are correct - this client purchased the car a couple months ago in the US before he moved to Canada. First one I have ever seen! It is a Ford Fusion with the interior of a Lincoln. Very sweet ride...

Thank you! Would have loved to have been able to do some wetsanding, as well as finish the car out with Optimum Finishing Polish, but hey...

Question (that I probably already know the answer to, so no point in starting a new thread...) Any of you guys moved from OPII to M205? I love OPII as a finishing polish in a 2-step after M105, or as a middle polish in a 3-step, but the work time is so LONG! Does the 205 finish out as quickly as the 105 cuts?

You did an OK job, coulda done better...btw that car looks familiar...

wait that is my car! You did a great job brotha thanks....
