Deep Gloss Auto Salon: Cadillac CTS-V in Black

I purchased the Souveran Kit becuase of a deal on E-Bay. I figured why not since I was going to order the Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion (and cause I use the Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo already).

Let's see what can I say about Souveran. At first it took a bit of coaxing and warming up to get it to apply smoothly. It was a bit cold out so i'll give it that much :) but after a few circular runs of the sponge in the container it warmed right up.

Honestly I didn't care much for the smell (I sorta like Blitz's odor better). But it went on smooth and quickly, (could have spread better, again it was cold) and the cool thing is that you just took it right off without much drying or hazing.

After the first removal, the reflection of myself startled me :D haha and then I realized it was me in my car!

One thing we need to keep in mind is that my car had been mega-Klassed two weeks ago and that the Klasse was fully cured (5 layers to be exact). So the paint was also in it's most excellent condition. Also it seemed that after two weeks the Klasse and it's shine seemed to settle into it's perfection.

But after adding the Souveran, the "pop" from the finish just amazed me. With my satin silver finish, it is very tricky to get that car to reflect at angles greater than 45° it seems like with Souveran, it upped the degree amount to like 50 or slightly higher than 45 (if you're looking for a quantification).

So is Souveran worth it? Well maybe for shows and stuff, and if you really like to wax (which we all do of course!) but for your average "Joe", maybe not. It is a bit pricey but the shine is well worth it, if that's what you're after. I'd use this stuff like a quick turn around after I wash my car, almost like, shine and wipe.. shine and wipe.

I don't think anyone would have any complaints with this high quality, high shine, high depth, easy to use product. Oh and very slick on the finish too.

here's another morning pic, put you sunglasses on

I liked the review but I gotta say that <strong class='bbc'>anything[/b] should go on smooth after 5 layers of Klasse. ;) Thanks for posting the pics, I love that about this site!

Steve!

Just need a better digi cam or better picture taking skills, maybe a 2002 black BMW M5 in the garage would look nice and have the passat as a daily driver?

For me, a 2002 or 2003 black or dark green jetta is in-line. Wait for pictures later on.

Anyhow, great pics and nice review,

Jason

PS Welcome to the Souveran band wagon.

I treat the wheels like I do my paint. I took them off (to paint the calipers too) and cleaned them with PPCL (worked wonders) and then applied 1 coat of AIO and 3 of SG over 2 days. I could only take of 2 wheels at a time and so it took a lot longer than I had anticipated.

I use Black Magic Dashboard Protectant on my wheels for now. It seems to stay fairly black but it doesn't last that long. I've been up in the air about dressings, i'm still not sure which one to use. I like anywhere from a lot of shine to just black, but it seems like all the products tend to brown unless you reapply constantly (which for some reason I don't like).

Thanks everyone, for your kind words, I couldn't have done it without this board and everyone's help and knowledge.

The calipers look pretty cool Steve. I really like the blue look against your silver beauty. As for the Souveran, I'm so glad you like the Souveran. It remains my favorite wax. Laters

Pinnacle products are the best on the market, hands down. The prices might be steep but I find it well worth it for their ease of use. Souveran is the best wax on the market and easily outshine many other products.

Zaino Z-16 will keep your tires BLACK. It is very durable, makes no mess, and has a low gloss BLACK satin shine.

I think you will be happy with it.

Steve,

Not sure if you're still interested, but the tire dressing I love to use is One Grand E.R.V. Dressing. It's specially made for exterior surfaces, giving them a JET BLACK shine. I have been using it for two years now and I love it. Plus, it comes in a spray form so it is super easy to use compared to messy gels and lotions. What can I say, another excellent product from One Grand that I know you will not be disappointed with. You can get a 1 gallon jug for $34.20 www.carcareonline.com. Hope this helps.

You might also want to try the AutoInt dressing. I haven't used it, but it sounds interesting and the price is reasonable.

Then you can post your results... or in other words be the ginny-pig :D

Awesome job on the V, I love those cars. I was wondering if anyone used Duragloss anymore. I used to use it and loved it, I believe I still have some in the cabinet.

Oh and those V brakes look VERY familiar.
