decal removal help

Hello,

I have a '99 Dodge Dakota Sport, Black. I live in the Northeast.

1)On each door is a decal that reads "Dakata Sport". How can I safely remove them? Will it be more difficult since they are 5.5 years old?

2)Years ago I had a bug/wind deflector on the leading edge of the hood. It broke and I removed it about 3 years ago. One of the ways of fastening it was with three sticky dots directly on the paint. Thay have been exposed for three years now. How can I safely remove these "dots".

3)I use the truck as a truck and it has never been stored indoors. What will be the toughest/longest lasting paint protection. Looks come second to durablity in this case. I use Zaino on my M3, should I just use that on the truck? I don't have time to detail two vehicles every week or two.

THANKS!!!

1) You should be able to remove by heating the area well with a blow dryer/heat gun--careful with the heat gun, use some dental floss to pry off the letter, remove remaining residue with something like 3m adhesive cleaner, polish paint if necessay, protect with your Zaino

2) Same procedure minus the floss

3) Zaino topped with Collinite

Hope these approaches do the trick

Ive used heat(carefully) and Ive used goo gone the key is to not use to much pressure, also make sure you polish the area and wax it when your done just my two cents worth, what ever its worth

If you're debadging, leave car in sun (better hurry), slip some 3M pre-cleaner behind badge and use fishing line to saw through the adhesive. The heat gun can also help soften the adhesive. Then wax away
