Dealing with interior windshield residues.

I'm in bad shape with the inside of my windshields. One car has an oil leak it isn't bad it's just where it is. Let me explain,, The oil partially mists into the cabin air filter compartment, thus we all use defoggers. So I get an oily residue on the windshield.

I have tried the waffle Glass towels on several cars to little liking (but was not wetting them in water before use, maybe this inhibits positive results) plush or low plush microfibers work OK but the plushy ones seem to lint on glass.

Should I do an ISO wash? What type is towels? I need help.. I've pretty much stuck with stoners Invisible Glass thus far as my product

Spray it completely with an all purpose cleaner, let it dwell, keeping it wet for a few minutes.

Wipe clean, then spray glass cleaner, and not in a "stream", but a heavy mist, allowing it to cover completely the windshield, and keep it wet for a couple of minutes, then use TWO towels, folding each into quarter squares, and place them "directly" on the glass, agitate/wipe, flipping the towel over to a clean "square" every quarter of the glass. Then, with a second towel, folded into a square, place directly and flat against the glass and wipe off the glass cleaner.

Wait a minute or so and find a clean "square" of the towel and wipe off any of what may be left over residue/smears.

What you have on the glass is some sort of residue that migrated from whatever "dressing" you or someone has used on the dash and interior panels. Most likely a dimethal silicone based dressing, however, even the plastizers that are a part of the vinyl, will migrate with heat and end up on the windshield and other glass of the vehicle.

Just a thought- but shouldn't you take care of the 'cause' before dealing with the 'effect'?
