I thought so! This one nearly drove me to the edge tho! The met balck are far more forgiving than the solids!

Mal came to Rochdale today, bringing his Black LCR for the FinerDetails treatment.

Here's the car on arrival:

Mal had booked in to have a blemish on the bonnet removed and the swirling sorted. Here are some more 'detailed shots of the car and the challenge which faced me today:

here's a close up of the bird poo mark, and the square of scratches instilled by a dealer trying to scrub the mark out:

First job was to get the dust and as much dirt from the car using the karcher. I then sprayed the arches and alloys with Poorboys APC, and left them to soak. Using the two bucket method I then washed the car, Mal rinsed it down afterwards. Mal cleaned the rear alloys and I did the front, with Mal rinsing the arches and alloys out while I prepared the clay bar.

We then clayed the car using DP clay. Mal doing bonnet, a wing and a sill whilst I did the rest. Hey experience has to count for something! Once fully clayed we started out testing the bonnet to gauge which 4 inch PC pad and SR would be needed. I settled with the light cut pad and Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover.

This was then followed up with Pinnacle Swirl remover. 3 hours and 45 mins later the car was de-swirled as best it could be done.

Mal then used the PC and a polishing pad to apply Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish, with me in tow wiping off. Once this was done, and with the paintwork looking nice and deep, i applied Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant to tthe paint whilst Mal applied Megs #20 sealant to the alloys (gave the lad chance to have a sit down too ;) )

Whilst the sealants cured I used DP glass restoreer to clean the exterior glass, Mal used Megs NXt metal polish to clean the tail pipe.

With all selants wiped clear, Mal applied a layer of DP Max Wax to the car, I followed wiping to the rich deep wet shine.

Lastly I applied Poorboys Bold N Brite to the tyres.
