OK, this is the thread where we are all going to talk about what we love about Detail City.

We can also talk about our favorite members and why.

We might even convince CharlesW to get in on a group hug! :bigups

Detail City is a place where I would prefer people hang out with a positive attitude so here is your chance to say something nice about Detail City and/or your favorite member(s)!
 
I like DC because the atmosphere is so friendly and I can ask stupid questions and not get bashed. It's also family-like here, as long as you show the proper respect for mullets!

Favorite members?? That's a toughie. Jngrbrdman helped me with a personal issue a little while back. It's always funny to read the things groebuck says. The LoveBuzzard will poo on you if you don't show respect. CharlesW is always helpful and the cool-hand in most situations. There's too many to list...this is not fair! haha!

Hi, my name is Norah, and I'm a shiny-car-aholic!

I love DC because I always feel welcome here! Even if all I have to contribute is a really bad joke or pun, it's ok with my DC family. (And those that it isn't ok with, are usually too polite to say so!)

When I started here 6 months ago, it was to enquire about the "protective sealant package" being offered by my dealer for my new CR-V. You suggested that I would be able to do a better job, and derive more satisfaction from doing it myself. Well, you were right!!!

CharlesW was one of the first to respond to my questions, and will always be "special" to me - even if he won't partake in our "group hug"!

Rabbi and The Chee encourage me with teasing, humour, and kind words - Thank You!!

AWD330 has been a great wealth of information, guidance and encouragement - Thank You!!

And, The Fuzz - what can we say about him, except that he is smoooooooooooooooooooooooooth!! And really funny and talented, too, at times!! Thanks, Fuzz-Meister!!

Now, I know I've left a lot of you off this list, so please don't say I'm biased - I'm just forgetful (at my age, it's expected!!)

Aw, I just love all you guys!! (OOPS - PERSONS!)

And a special big thanks to Dwayne for putting up with us all!!!

Like I said in my original post, the absence of flaming makes this a great BB to participate in.

How many BB's have you frequented where someone either starts a thread or posts a response and feels like they have to include something like " ..... and I hope I don't get flamed" or "please don't flame me".

If you like smearing the oil from natural peanut butter on your car
'cause it makes is shine, then good for you. Doesn't mean I'm going to follow you & I'll just move along to the next post/thread.

I was a "lurker" for a while at DC, as I was at a few other detailing/car mfg. specific sites, and the friendly exchange of ideas, combos, what NOT to do and so on made DC far more attractive.

It's more fun to participate here at DC than some of the other "imports vs domestic", "Ford vs Chevy", "NASCAR vs F1", "Zaino vs everything else" type BB's. I exited many of those quickly.

Dwayne, thanks for providing a friendly forum for the exchange of detailing knowledge & ideas.

DC ....... carry on!

I love this place its got great info and has improved my detailing skills a bunch. I've learned about new products that I would have never found other wize. Favorite posters don't have one but I do enjoy resfing the ones that Anthony O posts he is a detailing god!!
 
Well, I think everyone knows how I feel about DC............... I sometimes tend to defend it with a little too much "vigor"! :D

As for favorites here at DC............ too many to list! :bigups
 
I enjoy coming to DC because it's more like a family
The people in here can seem to take a joke as well as give it, which makes it fun.
Not everyone always agree's but thats alright too.
Everybody here celebrates others victories, and feels his or her pain when tragedy occurs.

as for my favorite posters.... it's everybody that helps make DC the great place that it is.

What would a love fest be without the Love Buzzard? :naughty I got nuthin but love for this place. Where else on the internet could a hard rockin guy like me be allowed to be my sexy smooooth self without fear of ridicule or banishment? Detail City has been a great place to literally let my hair down. :fuzz You are all like brothers from another mother. :headbang Keep on keeping on and stay smooooooooth!!!

As for my favorite member.... That would have to be my good buddy Blinded. :lmfao I don't know how many of you remember this, but he actually poured Clorox Bleach into his wash bucket so he could make his white car shine. :lmfao He even said once that he used chunky peanut butter on his car with a PC to see what that would do. :rolling Honestly, the only thing that gets me here on the weekends is the hope that Blinded might reemerge from whatever strange world he lives in and post something again. LOL He just makes me laugh so hard when I think back about the good old days. :lol :lol
 
i think what i like best is the knowledge we can gather to perfect the art of detailing, and the before and after pics are such an incentive to wrok harder to strive for the perfection, its also a great way for me to escape the stresses of the real world and read and learn about something i enjoy. and for dwayne and all to make this site possible i appreciate it , i have only ordered from dwayne 1 time and the service is top notch and i have a huge wish list for pac in the future. u guys rock :rockin
 
I love DC because I love a clean car. before joining here I used Turtle Wax, Armor all, old tee shirst and the cotton towels that are 1000 for a dollar at costco. Now my car is always shiney scratch free and Dwayne and Steve have all of my money.

The people here are all easy to get along with and have great knowldge that they are always willing to share. Very rarely do you see the in fighting and sarcasm you see on other boards. You really never get attacked for your opinions.

Favorite members? Very hard. Dwayne was a big help with the purchase and use of my PC.

Steve and Marj are great people persoanlly and are always willing to answer my often dumb questions.

Deanski is a guy that I have gotten to know on a personal basis and is a phenomonal person and has more detailing knowledge than I can ever hope to have.

Who else? Sean (GSRstilez) is a great kid also who is a big help to me as well. Even his girlfriend gave me great tips!!!

If I have left anyone out I am sorry.

One word comes to my mind: "diversity."
There's diversity in the members, there's diversity in opinions, there's diversity of products....and yet it all seems to work together!

If everyone was the same, this would be a boring place pretty quick! :-p
 
The "City" is great. Alot of information given out by really nice people. No matter how stupid a question I ask or asked they are answered politely and respectfully. My favorite people shall remain nameless for fear of offending others. Now about the group hug thing. Does this include The Whaler?:dunno

Reasons I like the DC are many. Most of all everyone here doesn't talk down to each other. You get a good feeling of family here. Most everyone is helpful and informative. Ok ! Everyone is or tries to be . ;)


Hmmmm! Favorite posters ! There's to many to even try to mention one and not feel like I left someone out. Each and everyone has strong point that adds to the greatness of the DC being what it is.

My favorite so far has got to be The Fuzz when he was wearing a purple velvet cowboy hat! That made me laugh everytime I saw it!
