Dash Repair?

budman3

Detail time!
Has anyone tried to fill or fix any cracks in plastic dashboards? We have a 4 inch long crack on the dash of our motorhome and was wondering if anyone has fixed this problem before? I haven't really seen any dash repair kits that fill in the cracks. Any ideas?

The only ones that I have seen are from JC Whitney and Rightlook:

With the rightlook one what products would I need? Thanks for any help!

Bud

I would call your local dealerships and ask who they use for this type of stuff...The chances are they have a mobile guy the comes out and dose this...I have a local guy here and he is really great....Matching the colors and making it look good are not easy.....I've watched this guy work and it a science if you ask me...You might also look at the higher end used car lots they will have one for sure....that's my .02

Yeah, the color matching was my only concern as well. I'll check around locally and hopefully will find someone. Thanks for the help.

Your welcome and I know you will be happier with the results

I don't know if it is an option in your situation, but some years ago rather than fixing a cracked dash on a Datsun P/U, I purchased a dash coverlay. No, not one of those carpeted things, but an ABS plastic that was made-to-fit for the specific vehicle. It lasted longer than the orginal dash and looked everybit as good. Without close (very close) examination you couldn't even tell it was there. No worry about color matching, grain matching and future repairs.

I could be wrong but I don't think those are made for motor homes....I have seen a few in cars and they are great as a replacement for the OEM
