dash problem

I finally got my new stereo installed today, but the damn installer managed to scrape up my dash getting the old stereo out and the new one in! I didn't notice until I drove away, but in the different light the scratches are obvious!

Short of going back there and kicking his ***, and without the aid of any pictures, what do you think I can do? The scrapes are in a plastic part of the dash around the stereo - not the vinyl (or whatever) part of the dash. I have some Novus Plastic #2 fine scratch remover, but I'm not sure that will be powerful enough. Maybe the #3 will work... Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!:(

how big are the scratches? wait......I remember a thread on here about scratches in interior plastic...do a quick search I remember a few tips then the obvious that there was nothing that could be done short of replacing the piece.

Thanks for your advice. I did a quick search before posting, but I'll go back and look again. But I'm afraid you may be right - the only way to fix it completely is to replace the entire part. I'm sure Mazda would love to cut me a break on the price.... yeah right.

sorry I cannot remeber more but it was during this month...I think it was about a stain or mark on a kick panel in a car. Dayum this crappy memory of mine...Sorry it aint so good any more...Too many beads to the head I guess from parades:nixweiss

Hmm - someone else suggested Novus #2.... there are actually 3 grades but I don't have any #3. I think I'll give the #2 a shot. Couldn't hurt I guess. I'll post the results if I get anything worthwhile!

And I like the Americanese! Parents live in PA....friends in Houston..... gotta love the ability to carry a conceled weapon...

I came across this site Interior Repairs while moseying around the net one night. :p Don't know anything about them - no stock in the company - usual disclaimers, BUT:eek: it might be something that could help, eh?:D
