Damnit!!!

Down by the river
I was shove;ing the drive and hit my door with the shovel, with a metal bar on the bottem. Left a nice metal scratch about 2-3 inches long. How can i fix this and HOw? It's below freezing out now.

It's called 'touch up paint'. You can't polish something like a deep scratch out. If you aren't comfortable doing touch up work on your own then you should probably get an estimate at a body shop. It shouldn't cost much for just a 2-3 inch scratch.

Looking at picking up that Duplicolor scratch fix thing. comess with putty, sanding disk, and sandpaper.
Can't find facroty paint, but i found one close enough
What am i suppose todo with it being winter. I can't store it in a garage.

Some places may rent you space by the hour/day. I know in the winter when I'm slow I'm open to anything.

You are going to have a hard time painting in the cold. The paint won't dry very well if it is too cold outside. This is one of those things where if it happens in the wrong time of the year, then it's best to wait till spring to do it. It would be better to leave it till Spring than to do a poor job on it now.

Also, Check out this product. Langka can really make a touch up job much easier. Especially if you already know pretty much what you are doing.

www.paintscratch.com can get you factory color paint.

it's on the bottem of the door and will be covered in salt. Think i should wait for spring or should i try and paint it now before it rusts.

Go buy some "Rust Check" in the red can and spray the scratch. The product will penetrate the scratch and prevent any rust. In the spring you can revisit the problem without worries. I use this stuff all the time. Check their website.

Good luck

Do what you need to do. I'd wait till spring and do it right. The rust will get cleaned out with your prep work. Or do a bad job now and do it again in the spring. It's up to you.
