Dad's 03 Lightning

Well, I have been trying to get Dad to let me work on his Lightning for a while. I finally had the opportunity yesterday; he was really wondering why we were doing it. He said it has a nice shine to it already; he was right but it had a great shine when we were done. I was very happy with the results.

Used Mequires Deep Crystal wash
Clayed with Clay Magic
Finished up with Poorboys polish with Carnauba with PC

Didn't really do any before pics. But the afters are attached.

If anyone has any suggestion on how I can get those pesky bug stains off of his bug-guard it would be greatly appreciated. I didn't seem to have any luck getting them off of his bug-guard at all.

Thanks,
Eric

Maybe some clay or Megs Plastic-X

Nice job. I really dig Lightning trucks. If they came extended cab, there would probably be one in my driveway right now.

I bet your Dad was happy with the results too! Looks great! :bigups

That shine is incredible. If the tires were finished, I would give you a 100%, but since they're not, you get a 98%. That shine is awesome!

I just used the Poorboys polish with Carnuba in it.

Thanks for the advice on what to try on the bug guard.

JJ; funny you should mention the tires believe it or not he doesn't like anything on them; he just wants them clean. He lives in an area that is still pretty well torn up from Hurricane Ivan so he still has a lot of dirt and crap to drive through on a daily basis so he doesn't want to put anything on the tires to attract more dirt to them :).

Thanks again for the compliments.

Look's good! Too bad Ford did away with the Lightning. I'm sure we'll see it again in the future.

I THINK the Lightning will be back in '07. The new guy in charge at SVT says it will definitely be back. Have you seen the SVT Explorer Sport Trac they are talking about doing? It is going to be powered by the current 4.6 blown Cobra motor and have 22's on it or at least that is the concept they are talking about building.

Haven't heard about the SVT Explorer, sounds pretty cool though. Nice to see Ford give their SUV's some SVT attention.

You should try Adams VRT on the tires. I have had amazing results with it and it gives a very low sheen. No trouble with attracting any dust. I have also had great results with Michilens new tire care. It is water based and does not attract dust. I drive through the desert a lot and there is certainly a lot of dust out there.

Thanks much for the advice; I will try to locate some of the Michelin stuff locally and see if I can find it.

Forgot to mention in my previous post that the truck looks great. I love the look of those trucks anyway, but you made it look even better. Great job.
