Dad Surprised me with a PC

Today my Dad surprised me with a new PC for my birthday. I was talking all about it, thanks to what I have read on the boards here. It came with the 5-inch and 6-inch counter weight. I am planning to use it in the next few days. I plan to wash, clay, polish and seal/wax. And hopefully one day I can rise from average driveway detailer to Autopian Driveway Detailer.

Now the questions,

I do not have any pads for it yet. Would I be able to pickup the backing plate and pads locally? IF not, would it be okay to use some microfiber bonnets for now until I can get some pads and backing plate?

I already have the claybar and soap.

As for wax and polish, I have some Turtle Wax F21 polish and Meguiar's Cleaner wax. Are these okay to use, or should I look into getting some new stuff. I am looking for suggestions for OTC stuff. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First off, congrats! If you are wanting to perform any significant level of paint correction (swirl removal), you will need some foam pads and backing plates to compliment them. I would suggest picking up some white and orange Lake Country 5.5" and 4" pads at minimum. I haven't tested your 2 current waxes, but I'm going to guess durability isn't going to be the best with those. NXT 2.0 and Duragloss have gotten many Autopians approval for OTC wax.
