Dacp

Well I broke down and bought some DACP, Meq's Wool Pad nad a foam buffing pad. Now the question. I I cleaned , clayed and polished a couple months ago and I still have swirls in my white truck and my metallic blue truck. They have been getting NXT's and carnauba'd. Do I need to do the clean andpolish BEFORE I work with the DACP? Or will the DACP take it all off anyway?

Thanks,

Straight to the dacp my friend. Try to follow up with something a little milder after DACP (Doesnt Always Clean Perfectly), like 80 or 81. Your pretty serious if your using wool! Good luck and post some pics !

Clay, polish, and wax . . . so DACP, NXT, and wax. DACP claims to remove light to medium swirls and NXT has very light cleaning ability. Top with a wax and you're good to go.

On a side note, I'm probably the only person on this board who's not impressed with DACP.

With a wool pad and DACP you will more than likely get some micro-marring in the paint fromt the abrasiveness. You need to follow the DACP with some sort of mild polish, probably not NXT. If you are looking for local product, you can try #9. From what I understand I wouldn't use the wool pad, I personally don't know why but I have heard a lot of people say stay away of them! I would get a Lake Country Yellow Concaves cutting pad if you want to do it right. I would highly rec. you go with #80 as a follow up to DACP, I prefer Menzerna Final Polish II, use a polishing pad and it will remove any micro-marring the DACP might cause. What are using for a machine, Porter Cable, Rotary? Here is what I would do:

--DACP Via LC Concaved Yellow Cutting Pad w/PC On 6

--Meguiar's #80 Via Meguiar's Polishing Pad w/PC On 6

--Meguiar's NXT Via Meguiar's Polishing Pad w/PC On 4-5

--High Quality Carnauba By Hand (Not a cleaner carnauba)

Don't use a cleaner Carnauba, you will remove the NXT. Again, if you are looking for local product, go with S100, you can get it at any Harley shop! Hope this helps

**Quick Tip** Try using the polishing pad first instead of the cutting pad, with #80 or DACP you may not need an aggressive pad, just aggressive product. You could even try #80 first instead of DACP, it may be more than you need! Check out this picture, Tdekany did this with a polishing pad and #80! I'll give you the link to check it out!! http://autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47716
