DACP vs. 3M Perfect-It III RC

For those who have experience with both, which would you say is more aggressive? And, is it necessary to work RC until it dusts, like DACP? (Hopefully the Accumulator will chime in :) ).

Thanks.

I'm not Accumulator but I have used both. IMO PI III RC is more abrasive. I can remove defects with one application of PI III RC and it takes 2,3 and sometimes 4 applications of DACP to get the same results. PI III RC also works better by hand than DACP IMO.

I work PI III RC until it's almost gone but not untill it dusts. I get an almost ready for LSP finish this way.

What Stevet said :xyxthumbs

Sorta funny comparing those two products (and I sure prefer the PI-III RC, 05933). While the RC is a little more aggressive, it seems to break down better/faster/easier. As Stevet said, it'll leave an *almost* ready-to-wax finish on many paints. I even know people who don't follow it with a milder product (but I would/do).

As per most products, don't use too much. You'll quickly get a feel for how long you need to work it (not until it dusts).

Hey you guys! You're making me want to get some PI-III RC! :D

The only thing that's making me reluctant is the gumming problems I've had with 3M products. I can't seem to figure it out. :nixweiss

I've used lots of Megs and Menzerna polishes with no problems but I just can't get the hang of 3M.

i did notice gumming w/ the PIIII RC and the pc but by rotory it cleans up very well no hazing either. With the PC i did get some hazing.

My favorite compound is 3M PI II RC, and PI III RC is supposed to be even better than that. I can almost get a finished product after the RC but I still follow it with at least one other polish to just make it more uniform. If anyone hasn't tried this stuff, you should, it's great.
