DACP gumming problem

Hello all, I'm working on a 2000 Volvo with clear. I did half of the car last night with DACP and came out fine. I'm doing the other have today and it is gumming my pads like crazy! I am getting a lot of hazing due to this occurence. Am I missing something here? I'm using Meg's polishing pad with about 4 1/2 speed on the PC. Any help is appreciated :-)

There is some buildup in the paint pore-structure. A decon or straight APC wash, or a good IPA wipedown will help to eliminate the problem.

It worked last night so it’s probably just that the pad has loaded up and the product is drying out too fast because it’s warmer.

Use less, clean your pad often, work smaller areas at a time.

PC.

Yep, but the total surface area of a car is never homogeneous. HTEC is also sensitive to this type of contamination, and pulls a surprising gummy strip here and there.

But true, a clean pad is absolutely essential! I clean my pads usually after two panels.

You're absolutely correct! It started when I was doing the hood. I guess I have a bad habit of doing a larger area when the panels are bigger. Using less product helped too. I followed with #9 swirl remover and it took care of all hazing from the #83. Looks like previous owner ran it through carwashes all the time and brushed a lot of snow and ice off of the car - I can tell because the deep scratches are only on the horizontal surfaces and all go in the same direct except the rear decklid which goes from left to right.

Everything turned out great. I will HD Cleanse and lay down a coat of Zymol Vintage for the lsp. I'll try to post pics. Thank you for all of your help :-)
