I just started using this product, and I also find it to be a pain in the ***. I used it with a Meguiar's yellow pad and a rotary, just like on the label, and I had the gum up occur from time to time.
The first time I used it, however, it was insanely hot an even more humid, so I tried it again this past Friday indoors. (like you should be doing) At 1400 RPM, it gummed up slightly, but frequent spritzes helped eliminate the problem. Higher speeds sped up the gumming.
It does not have as much cut as, say, PI3/3000, so on the hood, which was stone chipped to heck with many scratches from tree sap picking, I used PI, then the DACP.
At night the results were amazing. NO "night time spider web in the far-away lights" problems--chalk that up to fillers?
But in the daytime, I had swirl marks and slight holograms. I believe this is due to having to fight the pad on the panels because of the gumming. So I followed up with Optimum polish at 1400. And so far, so good. I will follow up with a SMR for black cars, followed with a sealant, and hope for the best.
I will continue to use this product, but with different pads/rotary speed and other variables before I make a definitive conclusion.
One More Thing: I think there is some confusion with the "DA" in the DACP nomenclature. I am quite sure that this was NOT specifically designed to be used with a PC...In fact, I will go further and say that it is not really meant for the PC, but not discouraged either. But I am not speaking like I am an authority on this. I just think many use it as a PC product because it has the "DA" in the name. The label clearly shows a Dewalt and a P8000 pad being used.
As you can see, other people are having nothing but good results with this product, so keep trying if you have the time to experiment. And like me, keep looking on this website for other people's impressions and helpful hints, maybe they will provide the key...
