okay, false start, I am looking for buying advice. PC-wise. gonna whack-a-mole on my

trunk, hood and roof. areas too large to do by hand, I give up.

I AM BUYING LAKE COUNTRY PADS, if that helps.

I like the concept of 4" orange, yellow, blue (medium, light, polish)

and 6.5" white and black (polish, finish)

total newbie - flexible backing plates - I want this right?? of course I do. So

go for the full bevel, because it's the most flexible in case you 'turn' the DA by accident???

:soscared: Bob at www.danase.com is the man in my books, not that I own allot of books (sorry about the endless babble) but I have recently had the good fortune of dealing with him. His pad prices are good and he has a discount for autopia members. And no I'm not Bob

If you have a Lowe's nearby, you can pick up a PC locally ... the Porter Cable 7336. Last I heard it was in the $100 range. Same as the 7424 except that it says "7336" on it and has a 6" counterweight. The 7424 has a 5" counterweight. Here's an informative thread about which PC to buy, pads, etc.

If you do want to go the route of the 7424, I got mine here a year ago. The price has gone up some, but it also includes free shipping.

And yes, you're right about getting a flexible backing plate. When you order your pads, order the backing plate too.
