Cyclo vs. PC

I have been using a PC 7424 for afew years now but have been thinking about getting a Cyclo. Does anyone have experience with both of these machines? Is the Cyclo much better than the PC? Thanks in advance

They both have their places. The Cyclo seems to do better correction, in my eyes. However, the Cyclo will not reach some areas and you will need a PC for that.

Yes, I do, and yes it is! There are some places that a dual action will be able to reach easier, but of course, a rotary would trump the DA in that regard, too.

We find the Cyclo to be somewhat more aggressive than the PC.

But, I agree that the availability of a PC and Rotary eliminates the need for the Cyclo.

Our Cyclo has been relegated to carpet scrubbing...

Hope this doesn't sound like a blow-off, but you oughta do the dreaded search.

There are at least two threads where we went into the specific pros/cons of each machine, and they both *do* have good and bad points.

FWIW, I use the Cyclos instead of the PCs every time I can (Cyclos don't get into the same tight spots/deal with certain contours as well and they don't work with all products).

When you need a rotary you need a rotary, but between the Cyclo and the PC IMO it's primarily personal preference. I greatly prefer the Cyclo.

Since purchasing one this time last year, the Cyclo has been my primary tool. I'm not a pro, but I do a detail or 2 a month for someone aside from myself. I never liked the feel of the PC. The vibration was annoying and it took too long to correct problems IMO. With the Cyclo, I can cut the time in half for a complete pass and achieve better results with less fatigue. Please keep in mind, this just reflects my experience. For serious corrections, I'll bust out the Makita, but I've not mastered the rotary yet, so I can't achieve that mirror-like finish many of the pros in the forum can. I still use my PC regularly, but its purpose is specifically for tighter areas and applying liquid sealants like FMJ :grinno:
