Cyclo Polishing: M105 and surbuf pads on a black merc.

It has been too long since I have posted some of my work. Here is a job I did using my cyclo the process goes as follows.

One thing that stuck out to me is that after I applied two coats of CG 50/50 wax it was stripped in one wash with CG maxi suds a week alter don't know if I am doing anything wrong.





When she got to me.

PROCESS:



4-6 passes with M105 and surbuf using water to reactivate and cleaning pads as necessary

4-6 passes with m105 and orange pads

final polish with malco medium cut and yellow pads



sealed with CG 50/50

I like the maxi suds works great for the foam cannon. Although I am not sure if it was the cause of the CG 5050 wax being stripped after one wash.

Nice job especially considering the shape that paint was in.



How do you like the Cyclo with the Surbuf pads against regular foam pads like the Cyclo orange?

The surbuf pads are annoying in the sense that they micro mar the paint meaning at least one step after them is mandatory. I love the orange pads for one step correcting usually do a few passes with pressure and then a few more easing up. But the correcting power of the surbufs is definitely noticeable. I still want to try messing around with the wool pads to see what they are really made of.
 
A few months ago I bought some surbufs for my Cyclo and I experienced similar--micromarring except I was using M205. I followed up with PO85RD and a white foam pad to get rid of it and it finished just fine. Regarding Mercedes paint, I always used Menzerna polishes with very decent results but yeah, considering that paint, you really got it cleaned up very nicely! I bet the owner was really pleased.

While I have two Cyclo users posting in the same thread I was curious if either of you have tried the Gloss-It line of polishes/compounds yet?



While I get good results with Meguiars Ultimate Cut & Scratch X I am getting really good results with the Gloss-It products. I don't run a business but do it for Family & friends so I just ordered the 4 oz trial samples and am liking them for their long work time and almost zero dusting for a heavy cut compound.



I usually start off with a orange pad & Extreme cut and finish with green pad & Evolution cut.

From what I have seen and heard the gloss it line with the cyclo is killer. Easy steps to follow and great results. I haven't found a good supplier for getting it to me up here in Canada economically. I would love to try it out though.

Did you use any specific on the cloth top to clean/condition it??



Also, can I ask where you got that foam cannon?? Did you use it with a power washer or no??
 
I've never heard of Gloss-it. Now that I have a GG polisher in addition to the Cyclo and the others, I'm probably going to do corrections with that and maybe follow up and jewel with the Cyclo now.



For cloth tops I've always protected with Raggtopp. They also make a cleaner.

I used some mild fabric cleaner and protected it with CG fabric gaurd.



I ordered the foam cannon online at Auto Obsessed - Auto Obsessed Ltd. and yes it was used with a pressure washer.
