Somewhere I saw some pics of some headlights done with the CV restoration kit available at WalMart. I was fairly impressed. So I picked a package up and used it on the headlights on our pickup. It generally consists of a couple sheets of 1000 grit sandpaper and super fine finishing paper. It also had a couple packets of some type of acid based defogger. And a couple packets of some type of liquid coating. Granted I could have done the sanding with paper I already had and some plastic polish. But overall if you're only doing a set of headlights this is a nice kit since you don't have to buy a lot of stuff that's going to sit for an extended period of time. The coating was a thin, whitish liquid which dried clear. I suspect the coating is similar to Optimum coating since it doesn't have to be buffed. Hopefully it will prevent future oxidation.
