Cutting Pad Won't Stay on PC

It seems that whenever I put the PC on 6, with my Orange LC pad, the pad wants to go flying off. I have to be really quick to hit the switch otherwise the pad will go flying?

Is there some way to prevent this? I try to get the pad as centered as possible, but it just doesn't want to stay on. The pad is virtually brand new, as is the backing plate.

Thanks guys! :wavey

Has this actually happened or are you just nervous about using the PC on 6? You should always have the pad in contact with the paint if you're running on 6. And I prefer to smear the polish out over the area on low speed first, and then move up to speed 6.

Yes, I am keeping some pressure on the PC on the paint. Maybe not enough though :nervous:

The PC really seems to get twitchy on speed 6 when I am going around any contours, but it seems just the smallest thing will get the pad off center and want to to flying?

Maybe I am not applying enough pressure when I am polishing?

Oh, and I have had the pad go flying off once. Now when I notice it getting off center on the backing plate I stop it and recenter and keep going. But it seems like I have to stop every 20 seconds.

Weird. Once again though, things like this are why I personally avoid speed 6. I think the PC gets quite spastic at that speed. Only thing I can imagine is that the hook and loop part on the back of the pad is not centered on the pad. Center the PC to the pad itself, not the hook and loop part if you know what I mean.
