Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Hey there everyone this is going to be a 4 or 5 part series. This is the first car for a customer and his self described, "Fleet of thrashed cars". He says the beemer is the least messed up one and that I really have my work cut out for me.
I say bring it on, I love a challenge!
Anyway, as you can see this is a 1989 BMW325. The customer admits that he frequently uses the services of the local car-wash at the gas station. Paint was faded very badly and the chrome had some pitting and rust, the trim was like a dried out sponge. Swirls upon swirls upon swirls. So much toxins and just plain crap embedded deep into the paint.
Process:
Megs Gold Class wash
Mothers Claybar
NXT wash
SSR2.5 with Orange Heavy cut pad at 4.5, unfortunately the pad got torn apart from the velcro and started puking out its interior, all I got to do with it was the hood. I finished the rest of the car with a green medium cut pad at speed 6
SSR2.5 with Green medium cut pad at 6
SSR1 with polish pad at 4.0-4.5
Megs trim restorer
Black Magic tire dressing
Rims cleaned with Simple Green at 10:1
And now the BEFORE pics
As you can see the paint did in fact have some life left in it, it just needed some good old fashioned TLC to bring out the gleam within.
Here we go with the AFTER pics
This one is my favorite!
And one of the interior in case you were interested
The car came out lookin pretty spiffy. There were some horizontal scratches and nicks in the paint that I couldn't fix, I beleive that these were from the automatic car was that he frequents. He was very pleased with the results, even though I feel I could have done better had I not blasted out my only heavy cut pad. Not a lot of interior pictures because the int. was nothing compared to the ext. Comments and questions welcome as always. Thanks for checking it out!
