Curious about some swirls

This week I hafve been driving a rent acar because my jetta is in the shop for collision work. This is my first accident and I took advantage of having a rent a car to practice polishing on. So I set out to the supply store and picked up Meguiars DACP and Swirl free polish.

After I used the two products and two applications by hand with a terry towel, I was hoping for a clean surface with no swirls but that wasnt the case. Granted its shiny and about 90% swirl free but not 100% like I was hoping. At this point, i took the rotary to it using hte same two Meguiars products but, still, there are some swirls left in the finish.

The car is a new Silver Cavalier (Chevy) and my only answer is the paint is f*****. This answer may be premature to trying a good compound. Only, I did not try this aggressive of a step onthis new rent a car due to my experience with the last 1993 Chevy Cavalier I detailed. I compounded the sh** out of it and got the same result, swirls. Especially on the trunk and roof.

It dirves me mad. I work so hard for the customer and the car isn't right. What could be the problem in this situation?

Too much product, not worked in enough, buffer speed too slow.

Could be a variety of things.

Some cars, however will have swirls so deep u damn near have to remove the clear coat to get rid of em.

Make do with removing as many as you can and hiding the rest with a good topper.

Few cars will come out absolutely flawless.
