CS-II Titanium Coating on Cement Boom Truck by PROTEKT

Troy@Protekt

a.k.a. Troy@DetailCity
It's been a while since I posted up any pics on here. This was a fun one. Definitely the biggest we have ever worked on.

This was a new rig. They wanted a coating applied to make it easier to wash and to keep the paint and logos from fading.

Two day project for 3 of us. There were a lot of intricate areas. If I were doing it again I would have used an airbrush in some places. We ended up with a small pile of applicators that were like rocks when we were done.

I'm planning to keep an eye on this rig and see how well it holds up with the Titanium coating.

I got a kick out of the warning stickers all over the place.

Looks great. I need to look into how much this coating is. I am also curious about how long it will last. I have 7 rigs that if it works well, I will be interested in using on

Wow, that is a huge investment in time to try and keep a truck looking good. Then again that trucks probably 700K-800K dollars new.

I think they were pretty smart to have this coated before it went into service. They should be able to keep this rig looking quite a bit better over the years without doing anything but wash it.

I was told this rig cost them $450k.

I used to post on Meguiarsonline a lot....I got banned off of this site for a number of years from the old regime because they thought I told people to post in support of my BlackWow products...but I just had a lot of really enthusiastic fans...=) When I got let back in...the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thanks Richard, I think we made a good choice going with it.

14 posts?! I thought I remembered you posting a lot on here.

I think you're user name was Richard@BlackWow on the old AutopiaForums (successor of Detail City), I don't remember you being banned from that site. I can't say as to what happened on the old Autopia Proper site. That said, glad to see you with us today and hope to see more of you.

I haven't been on this forum much. I was referring to the David Bynon days when he banned me for many years. I later came back as Richard@Blackwow when Autogeek took over but I forgot about that account lol. So maybe I do have more posts. Yep this is Richard Lin here of BlackWow and ShowCarDetailing. Thanks for the welcome. I kinda got burnt out on forums for a long time.

welcome back, i found your youtube channel through larry@ammonyc lighting video with you. great information! is CSII your coating?

Thanks Oldfordisbetter! I just did a fun event at the Petersen Automotive museum with the show Competition Ready. We restored 4 cars valued over $50milllion in 2 days lol. Fun times. CS-II isn't my own but I am the exclusive US distributor and I'm involved because I helped improve the product and make it what it is today and we are continuing to make advances in the world of coatings that no one has even achieved yet. CS-II is a Singaporean company but all products are manufactured in California and have been doing coatings since 2005.
