Crystal Glo Paint Treatment

Has anyone used or uses crystal glo paint treatment. I started using this product and I have found that it works great. Just a little run down for people who have not heard of the product before. It contains a SPF 30 UVA/UVB. its good for all paintwork, fibreglass, aluminum, chrome, mirrors windows and some other stuff. It is acrylic, has no silicone and no abrasives in it.

Seems to be a favorite with the Motorcycle folks. It appears to be a Canadian version of Klasse AIO both being an acrylic.

I've not tried it but would do so if I had the opportunity.

I will find out from Stephanie at crystal glo, where it is sold in your area.

Thank you. It's hardly a priority, God knows I have enough stuff now to do a fleet of 18 wheelers!

Someone has been feeding you a line of bull ...since when does a car care product contain a Skin Protection Factor (SPF) ...have they been talking to Nick and Adam ? It can have UV blockers or absorbers, but so does a clearcoat.
You might want to contact Big Ron for some Nu-Finish ..it claims to do the same things but much cheaper.

You could be right, but hey, just the same as every other product. that say there is certain stuff in it. I know it contains the spf30 uva/uvb, because the msds papers show it and the MSDS companies do testing on the products to make sure the product contains what they say it contains. So far I am please with the results.

Another thing to keep in mind, there are a lot of sealants out there. They say they can last from 1 - 5 years many people say they work, I don't think they would last more than 12-15 months. I would like to know what you think about those products?

How about, I will find out from crystal glo where you can get it in the states and you get yourself a bottle and try it out and let me know what you think.

Cheers

What I think of these these types of products has little consequence but since you've asked I'll tell you. I'm ever the skeptic but there are a few things I know. There is no Easter Bunny, taxes don't take a vacation and rust doesn't sleep.

I've used way too many products over the years. I don't believe ANY sealant is good at a year out let alone beyond that. Even if someone were to give me a product with this claim I wouldn't go 6 weeks without putting another coat of something on my vehicle. The outrageous claims of durability just seem to be beyond reason to me. Having said this I believe that people who typically frequent sites like DC are interested in the time they spend, the process and frequent nature of detailing a car. They don't detail and hope not to touch it again for a year, this isn't even what they're looking for in a product.

Show me any regularly driven car one year after it's last application of wax or sealant, give me a piece of clay and let me look at the finish in the light. The finish will not feel slick, there will be contaminants in the paint (evidenced in the clay) and swirls will be visible. That said, what type of protection do these claims substantiate? Is it simply that water runs off of the hood? Claims such as these make me lose any interest in the product, I just simply don't believe it. My 2 cents.

Not to pile on here, but I want to clear up a misconception you might have about MSDS sheets. MSDS sheets aren't there necessarily to "prove" what a product is made of, but rather to show potential hazards and proper handling procedures for users and emergency personnel. It will most likely show active ingredients as they relate to safety and handling, but it isn't meant to be the result of any testing that may have been done on the product. Again, just wanted to clear things up.

Pluswhich, IMO, to say that an automotive polish or wax is spf 30 sounds like more of a marketing thing than anything that is of any use. There are probably similar substances in this wax that there are in suntan lotion (lanolin, etc) so they make the jump to say this wax is spf 30.

One thing I would like to say is, I was not preaching about this product. The question i asked was, has anyone tried it or uses it. I just listed the information that was on the back of the bottle. I also said I just started using it and was pleased with the results that I got from it so far. I also responded to "Antonio Waxer" that there are alot of products out there that say certain thing. The big one be sealants that last from 1 - 5 yeasrs and I wanted to see what he thinks of those products. I do agree with "Phideaux" about the labeling and marketing of the product.

Questions/responses that are "directed at" or "being to" only one person are best facilitated through a personal message (PM). My apologies if I read too much into this post by posting an opinion but it was placed in a public forum.

Next time I will pm any direct question/response. I do apologies to
"Antonio Waxer", and for now on as I said I will PM direct questions and responses

Cheers

Boy am I glad I'm simple minded! All I read was that the guy used the product, liked it, and wondered if others had heard of it or used it.
