Critique my wet sanding, first time

Hey guys, I never thought I would see the day I put sandpaper to the paint of a car but I decided to try it today. There was no real reason for me to do this other than to practice, the trunk itself was not in terrible shape, it had some rids and etching that were fairly deep. I got this trunk out of a junkyard when I rebuilt this car so it is not a big deal if I mess up. Ignore the poor attempt at paint touch up, I thought the wet sanding went well though.

I was not 100% sure on how to tackle this so it was a learning process. After wool I tried some HD Uno via orange but after I made a few passes I wasn't 100% happy with it. I was experimenting with 105 and hd uno, I found that hd uno after the 105 worked well. This was all done with a makita rotary.

My pics are not the best, the sun has been toying with me all day. Every time I pulled the car out to get a sun shot it would go away. As I sit here and type the sun is out lol, I am going to go and see if I can get a better look.

I do have a question, when you wet sand do you keep the sand paper moving in the same direction or move it back and forth?

If you're doing it by hand, sand in a straight line and switch your orientation 90 degrees every time you go up in grit. This makes it easier to tell when you've sanded out the previous grit's scratches.
