Crayon removal on cloth headliner. HELP!!

Hello all,

Looking for a safe technique in removal of crayon on a headliner. Headliner is a cloth material.

Thank you.

If your cloth headliner is smooth (not "mouse fur") you may be able to use a Mr. Clean eraser. Either that or try Goo Gone or something like that. Make sure to get any residue of the Goo Gone out also (soap and water) or your problem may be worse. I'd try in an inconspicuous spot first.

I make no guarantees, but thought I'd respond with something since no one else has yet.

I'd use the least amount of water/liquid possible to avoid water spots. Headliners seem real susceptible to them, and you can easily get a nice water ring around where you cleaned. You may even need to gently use a steam cleaner (rug shampooer) on the entire headliner after removing the spot to make it look right. I have used mine several times with no ill-effects. But I am careful not to soak the headliner to avoid any rings appearing.

Since Crayon is waz I'd use an iron with a cloth bonnet on it after trying the Mr Clean eraser. Use light heat and pressure to heat the crayon and wick away the material onto the cloth bonnet. I had to do it on a microfiber couch last year, worked perfectly.
