Yeah I bought it used off of a friend who had no clue where he misplaced them? :S oh well, you win some, you loose some. I traded him a tickle charger for it last year that I never had use for.

I just picked up a counterweight for my PC because my used one never came with it. I only use my PC with 4" LC pads.....did I waste my money? I kinda feel like a newb, I never read the autogeek description till the end, and at the bottom it clearly states "The counterweight is for use with a 6” backing plate only" :wall

**PS-does anyone out there know the size of the two bolts that hold the weight to the machine??**

I do not use a counter weight with 4" pads and it seems to do fine.

I am not sure what size the screws are for the backing plate but the porter cable part number is 877817. They are .91 each. You may as well just order the right size with the right head.

Striker- I use the 6" counterweight with all sizes of pads, including 4".

Note that the weights were made to go with the original PC backing plate with (only) one sheet of sandpaper stuck to it and zero applied pressure...quite different from aftermarket plates, with foam pads wet with product, and plenty of applied pressure.

Most people don't notice a huge difference, and I doubt that it *really* matters which weight you use. So yeah...maybe you wasted a few bucks.

Odd that your PC didn't come with *any* counterweight...both of mine came with one (5" on the one, 6" on the other).
