its a microfiber drying towel from viking. i saw it this week at autozone and picked it up. tried it out today and was working really well. towards the end it grabs a piece of the top lining trim and as u can see, pulled the thread. it claims to be microfiber? will it cause marring if i used the towel again, on that particular section of the towel?
 
but since most microfiber products are a combination of diff materials (polyester, ect) wouldnt breaking the thread or pulling it mess with it? i dunno. im being weary of it.
 
Most microfibers are a combination of polyester and nylon. Waffle weaves, in my experience, are very prone to having threads pulled be it from sharp corners or emblems when compared to other microfibers. If it looks like cutting the threads will not cause fraying, then do it. Otherwise I would leave it alone as I do not think it will cause any problems, though the coarser threads used for hemming (or whatever the edge is) may cause marring on lesser quality towels.

Did you happen to pull a tag off from where the threads are pulled?
 
no. it happened by me sliding it across a piece of trim on the roof lining.


this happened to me while pulling off a tag. i havents used it again. is it still usable? ot should it be placed in the the interior cleanup pile

Retire that sucker. Wow you ripped that out crazy. I cut the main tag, and pry out the remaining within the stitching out.
 
those were one of the big blue plush drying towels i got at target. im kinda sad i have to retire it. its soo good at sucking up water as well. the tag was microfiber too, i just didnt want it on there. :confused:
