Correction has begun, '94 ciivic, single stage, NEGLECTED RED

I took delivery of my little civic about a week or so ago and it has some badly neglected paint! I haven't used a rotary in years. This is a car that needed the rotary! I'm using a two step method. I'm following with the FLEX 3401. Here is the paint:

Original from 1994, badly weathered some deep water spot etching.

This should be fun LOL! I just taped up the moldings and am waiting for my schlegel+meguiars pads to dry. Foam is not going to cut it with this.

A little after:

Meguiars burgundy heavy cutting wool pad. Presta ultra cutting cream(131932 I think?) followed by the yellow ccs pad on the FLEX, same process. To rid the holograms as I am sure it'll have some. I then followed up with an orange pad and Menzerna SIP on the hood. Again, has some deep etching but is SO much better than it was!

It should look really nice when it is done! Just taped up the moldings and will go at it a little more today and hope to finish it tomorrow(going somewhere tonight). Correction is a TON of work, but when you roll the car out AFTER you complete it, it's all worth it!

Thanks! it is progressing nicely! ;) Messy, dusty but it'll look very glossy upon completion! Still not done yet.

I'm probably a complete dork because of this; but when I see an older "economy" car, that just looks a MILLION bucks I totally get excited about it. Can't explain why. This looks like it's gonna turn out amazing!

It's getting there!

This thing looked like sandpaper was the item used to wash it. That dreaded rotary was the only thing that would cut it(hate how messy it is!) but it looks a million times better!

Had to use the rotary and presta on this too.

She's getting there!

Thanks very much! :)

Getting there! :) I think I'll use menz-intensive polish/orange and finish it up with either 205 or nano white pad. FLEX. God, my arms are going to fall off!!

LOL I am the same way! Awesome transformation, OP!!!

Thanks, it's been chillin' in the garage. Two coats of Meg's gold class. I'm normally a Zaino guy, but I don't know how the Z stuff would hold up on a single stage finish. Before I used "Z" I was big in to meg's and loved their products. Hope it's durable enough....if not, I've read a TON about Collonite 845. :)

Excellent job. Have any full shot of the finished car? I am really looking forward to seeing the final shots to this car as I used to own a 92 ex coupe in aztec green. Loved that car

I just put another coat of Gold Class on it. Photos are straight out of the camera:

Nice new Honda emblem. Didn't come with one :).

Micro-fiber towels make wiping ANYTHING off, effortless! I used to curse wiping menzerna off with 100 percent cotton towels. You can almost use one mf towel for the whole car. I am VERY happy with how this car came out. It's been in the garage for about a week or so :). 'Been driving the Z06 which you can imagine now, is trashed! Front wheels are black. Thanks!!

When it's a 17 year old DD and it looks THAT good, it's a stronger statement than a nice looking late model anything. I bet you'll get offers to buy it from random strangers and you can answer "no" with pride when asked if it's a repaint. It's a great feeling. Really nice job!

Thank you so much. Yes, I am really glad it turned out as nicely as it did. I've had a few offers for about $1000 over what I paid for it! It's out in the rain now as my Z06 is in the garage awaiting a coat of Zaino! :) Hopefully the gold class will last. The second it starts looking weak, I'm ordering collonite 845. I'd heard a ton of good things about that stuff. Appreciate the replies.
