Cool Mustang Commercial

I thought this is that dumb one that Ford has where the guy's on the autobahn and said he couldn't find a speed limit in American he liked. What a retard, so he drives 120 on that wet road in a RWD, 500 hp, 2 ton, blown sports car? What a dummy.

Yeah, for the price of the car, plus shipping, plus the trip to Germany the guy could of either rented a nice road track for the day or went to Germany and rented a RUF Porsche or something. LOL

The only thing I dont really like about those commercials is that can't get your hands on one of those cars...so why do they keep advertising them? Autoweek this week has a preview of the Mustang Sedan and Wagon....can you say "The Death of the Mustang". Ford better not build either one of those!

You can get them. They have a list of Hertz where they are available. The thing is that they are only allowing 15-18,000 miles on them and then they are selling them off. They will sell some to dealers that showed interest, some to individuals with deep pockets, and some will be auctioned off, probably at Barrett Jackson. One of the car mags got a hold of a copusl of them here in Detroit and took them to the local tracks.

As for the Four Door Mustang. It won't happen. Ford already countered the rumors and said it isn't going to happen. There is one thing I am noticing more and more off in the automotive industry and that is fakes. There are tons of "concept" designs out there that started as just some kid playing around with photoshop and somehow they get out onto the net and into magazines and the car companies are laughing about it. Just like the new corvette spy photos that ended up being a few guys taping up their current Vette and taking "spy" shots of it and then magazines picked up the photos and ran it as a spy photo of the new Vette when it was just a hoax.

The Shelby GT350H's are for Hertz Car Rental companies (designated by the "H") like they did back in the 60's. Its the Shelby GT500's that are in the commercials and that you cant buy. I have seen one for sale in the back of Autoweek for almost a $40K mark-up on sticker.

Yeah, your probably right, but Autoweek is usually pretty reliable when it comes to showing off concepts and different ideas. They better not build it, that would just be so sad for any Mustang owner.

My bad, I swore that was a Hertz in the commercial. I thought the black and gold color scheme was saved just for the Hertz cars for some reason.

We have it much easier in Detroit. I see the Shelby GT's all of the time and my dealer has one for $47,000. He said he could easily get $67,000 for it though. If I had more money that I knew what to do with I would love to buy it, garage it, and sell it for double in a few years. LOL

I know the one show on the Autobahn is the GT500 because they advertise it as 500hp, the GT350's only have 320hp...so there is a big difference.

If I could buy one of them for in the 40's I would do it in a heartbeat...somehow! That car will be over 100K really quick. Remember, Carol Shelby is on his third heart (two transplants), once he goes anything with his name on the badges and his signature on the glove box is going to skyrocket in value like you would not believe!

the new Shelbys aren't going to be what the old shelbys are. if I was going to "buy" something to invest in it would be stocks & bonds .- I dont have 40 yrs to get double my money back and besides that Ford plans on building 8,000 a year for 4 years ( how many shelbys were produced in the 60's) so price will come down. these things are like PS3's right now wait another year price will be a lot lower I waited on my 03 got it in 04 with steep discounts

Oh yeah the mustang is NOT a sports car it is a pony car

The gt500 commercial is simply retarded. He's going faster than everyone else because he's American and is addicted to power, while the Germans who actually know how to drive properly are being safe and not flooring it around on a wet road.

There is nothing wrong with a commercial showing a Shelby GT500 in the rain on the Autobahn. Where did the idea that the car is doing 120 MPH in the rain come from? Not from the commercial.

The commercial is not retarded. Viewers who claim seeing things that aren't actually there are retarded.

You can buy a Shelby GT500 at almost any Ford dealer. Current asking prices are about equal to a Corvette ZO6. Given that Ford has stated they will build 9,000+ GT500 per year, the price will come down.

When Car and Driver tested the GT500 they compared it to the regular Corvette. The 400hp Corvette beat the GT500 in all categories except back seat.

The Shelby GT350H was built for Hertz and Hertz will start to auction them off soon. Before anyone gets all wound up, ponder this:

Carrol Shelby has very little to do with the Shelby GT500 besides getting paid for the use of his name. Unlike the Shelby Mustangs of 1965 - 1966, which were shipped from Ford's San Jose's plant and completed at Shelby's facility at Los Angeles International Airport, the new GT500 have been completely engineered and assembled by Ford.

Shelby's new GT350H uses off the shelf Ford Racing parts. Everything on the car with the exception of the Shelby fiberglass hood, gold stripes and Shelby badging is available over the internet or the counter at many Ford dealers. The car is however, modified and completed at Shelby's facility in Las Vegas.

If you want a GT350H, go instead to your Ford dealer and buy the new Shelby GT Mustang. It is exactly like the GT350H except for the hood and colors. It is modified by Shelby in Las Vegas. The MSRP is about $5,000 over a standard Mustang GT.

If you think the GT500 is great, buy a standard 'Vette.

If you like the GT350H, buy the Shelby Mustang. Better yet, buy the parts from Ford racing.

Get this instead of the GT350H new from your dealer:

Personally, I wouldn't spend a dime on anything with Shelby's name on it ever since he claimed to have found some 50 old, original AC Cobra chassis in his werehouse and was going to complete them as original 1966 Cobras for $500,000 each. According to the L.A. Times, the chassis were new construction. :soscared:

Why would you say that commercial is retarded? The commercial isn't meant to be a depiction of reality, it's simply playing on the emotions of potential buyers.

Damn right he's going faster because he's American. What are you, French or an American apologist? Maybe you're just 100% Candy ***.

I've driven thousands of kilometers on the Autobahn, including many in heavy rain. The absolute worst offenders of speeding in the rain are Germans in S class Benzes (not counting former East Germans in Trabants).

France is good for only one thing: Collectible miltary firearms. French military weapons are all in mint condition. Unfired and dropped in the sand once.

Because he wants the government to protect him from arrogant American speeders. (Actually, he drives a Toyota Tercel and is jealous.)
