Convertible top restoration?

We are finally going to get the 1966 Mustang finished up, and I will be giving it a detail tomorrow evening.

I plan on picking up a Raggtopp Vinyl top kit, so I figure I'll be set for cleaning the top itself, but how should I go about cleaning the back window?

Here is what I'll be working with

I would try Plexus, or something similar.

Hope that helps.

Plexus would be my "go to" product. That window is pretty rough though. If Plexus doesn't clear it up 100% you might want to try Klasse All In One in a small area to see if it needs something stronger than Plexus. Once you bring back the clarity, you can maintain on a regular basis with Plexus and it should stay clear in the future.

Thanks Fuzz. I tried Plexus inside and out, and it didn't do jack. I know PlastX is fairly abrasive so I tried that, and once again, no results. I guess that piece will just need replacement.

Yep, sounds like it's a "gonner"! :(

Try the Novus 3-Step system first. I used 3 to 1 with Excel green-blue pads/ Rotary on a rear window of a 59 Mercedes about a month ago and was pretty impressed with the results. The set cost ~$20 but if you have Plexus you need only purchase steps 2 and 3. Sorry no pictures, I was waiting for a sunny day to get the afters as window shots are tricky. HTH.

I might try the Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner and Glaze tomorrow....I'll let you guys know the results!
