Are the pictures too big? I think it's easier to see the details when it's bigger, after all we are "Detailers" :p

That turned out really wet! :)

I take it the paint was single stage?

Actually I don't know, I've heard Celicas had single stage paints, but this one didn't transfer onto my pads, so probably not. (Phew). Yeah, I can't wait for the full sunshots either!

Whoa Dude Gross!!:soscared: Man white can REALLY look ugly if owners let it go like that. You probably just added 5 years onto that car's life, it was looking pretty trashy before. Did you charge him for it?? I hope so:grinno Was that the end of your claybar's usefulness as well? Those wheels came out nice too, definite improvement, good job.

sam . . . . nice work man . . . how did the onr lube fair with the automagic clay . . .

that toyo looks baller. !

Yeah, I charged him for it, 9 hours is a bit to let go. The end of the claybar wasn't as useful as if it was rounded (freshly folded) if you know what I mean. That car probably used up about 60 grams of claybar itself. It was horrible. Thanks

Frank~ONR lube worked well, but I like the smell of the Meg's QD still. It was weird smelling the ONR. Did you get your SIP yet?

artikxscout- Not only did that turn out great, but I bet you gained a lot of familiarity with the rotary. Good job :xyxthumbs

RTexasF~ He told me he never touched it ever since he bought it, probably like a year ago. YIKES! Plus he lives next to a railroad too so there were a bunch of rust that I picked up with the clay, that's why it's somewhat brown.

Accum~ Yeah, I felt confortable using the rotary too, the only problem is that it took longer than if i used a PC. I don't know if I'm working it longer than needed (Still doing it like a PC). How many passes (times over a spot) do you normally go per panel or per application of polish?

I HATE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!!

Excellent work, that is some transformation and not something that I would tackle! Looks like your hard work paid off; for you friend :)

Nah, I bet it just *seems* like it takes longer because you're doing more thorough correction ;)

Just do it until the marring is either gone or diminished to your satisfaction/comfort level.

It depends on the paint (hard/soft) as I only go so aggressive with my pad/product combos (gotta try wool pads some time). Two examples I'm dealing with currently:

I just did some spot-correction on the S8, and I went over each mild scratch about four-eight times with the rotary/4" Cyclo green/3M PI-III RC 05933. That got the marring out/diminished but did, of course, require a follow-up with final polishes.

On the M3, I'm using the rotary/6.5" orange or yellow cutting pads/H-T EC and I'm doing at *least* that many passes to get the scratches out (one or two is enough for the minor swirls/etc.).

But FWIW if I did stuff like that to my MPV I'd be down to bare metal in no time!
