consummate nozzle?

I admit I have a problem
ok this turned out to be a long story so hang with me for just a minute.

I've been severely disappointed with my post winter paint condition, so I've been looking to tighten up my washing ritual in addition to a myriad of other 'little' correction oriented projects. I've got the vast majority of eclectic wash soaps (incl most no rinse and spray only varietals), more sheepskin than I deserve, microfiber everywhere, dive weights holding down the grit guards in my buckets... and I've been shopping locally for ideas to keep this detailing thing fun (oc insanity factor in check, sort of) and have been upgrading hardware. the only item obviously missing from my arsenal is *the* foam gun, which I've been avoiding since I just don't want something that big and pointy stuck to the end of my hose.

so anyway I was wandering through my favorite hardware store doing little things I keep forgetting like having knobs made to fit the threads opposite the handle on my pc to reduce vibration noise, and I came across something interesting. has anyone seen this little item? it seems to be fairly well built with substantial weight, rubber surrounding, it's own shut off, soap reservoir, and nice firm (buffered) movement. just like this one except gray:

my second thought was, ok, great, more hardware added to the existing objects on my hose... so I didn't pick it up but instead returned home and gained some perspective on just how much hardware I already have stuck to the end of the hose with my current set up:

and I was thinking the foam gun was too much?

so my question is, has anyone tried one of these? unless there's been some lesser experience out in the wild, I'm going to have to make another trip to the hardware store. let me know.
