Confused,why Quick Shine is streaking

This is my first post and love this site..Getting use to all the abbreviations and have learned so much..

This evening I tried some ClearKote Quick Shine on one panel and the hood of my Lexus is300 metallic blue (Indigo Ink Pearl) and trying to remove,it streaked like crazy. It was applied over S-100,cured for a few days.I did a search and from what found,it should apply and remove very easily, with no streaking. I misted it on lightly and tried to wiped off right away with a Concour Buffing towel..After trying some Z-6 over top,the streaking was gone.Any ideas? Thanks

Sometimes it will streak slightly on a hot surface. Usually rubbing it into the paint a little longer will remove the streaking.

If you bought a gallon and filled it up with water (as instructed), maybe the concentrate wasn't mixed up thoroughly enough. Other than that, I am stumped.

Scott,

The surface was cool (sunset) and purchased the Qt. size, but still shook-up to mix well..Maybe like you said, need to rub in longer..Thanks..

EJ, go ahead and spray a good qty of it at first.....Saturate the area, then wipe away, refold MF and wipe dry....Its one of the top 3 QD's in my book, shouldnt have any problems with it....

I have suddenly started getting some streaking with mine, too. I have been puzzled, because I am using it in the exact same manner. Maybe I am using too much.

Hi ZaneO

I was misting a little on about two square Ft.,of a panel or the hood (lightly like always used Z-6) and don't think I was using too much..I'm most likely wrong, but have a theory..When I used the S-100,didn't wipe off soon enough and got some streaking too.I thought I had removed it all,but maybe not and the Quick Shine was just highlighting the reflection of the left over I didn't see..My .02 cents :nixweiss

Thats why i recommended a little heavier application. QS works great shining up surfaces, spray a little more and its cleaning bonuses really work in!
