I'm looking to replace my XMT 1 thorugh 4 and wanted to try out Menzerna with my PC.

I'm confused as to the level of abrassivness of their line. Is FPII like xmt1? I'm not sure what to order.

Power Gloss = most abrasive

Intensive Polish = moderate

Those 2 are the only ones I have and used from Menzerna.

I have no problem using the menzerna with a PC...just need the right pads..and I found the CSS and Meg's pads work the best...I used PO85RD3.0 and 3.01 with a green pad and a PC to get where the Rotary can not get and they finish off just as good...

and PO85RE5 and RD work fine also...106Ff works fine...I use the 5 inch CCS pads from Danase...and 6 inch from Meg's....

Here's a link with a description of each polish.

Heh. I was struggling pretty hard until I saw the US flag in the upper right hand corner to get to the English translation. The extent of my German is "Excuse me, may I have a glass of beer.", "Pardon me, where is the bathroom.", and "Please direct me to the American consulate."

I figure those three phrases go pretty far in just about any language, but it's not much help for deciphering the polishes. :D

Thanks for the link,

Just a heads up, IMO Menzerna works much better with the rotary. I do not like how it works with the PC.

Hmmm. PC with LC pads works well for me too. Either the green or white pads:nixweiss

Unless you like dusting, go with another product for leveling. In my experience IP dusts a lot. As for final polishing you can't beat FP II for the price.

Now if money is not an option, go with 106FF or Blackfire SRC polish. They are impressive.

They would probably be just fine. I have the 5.25" ccs pads from danase and love them, but edge has a pretty good reputation around here. wont hurt to try it out and see what you think.

Well I just ordered FPII and IP, maybe I'll add Power Gloss later down the line. Hopefully this will deal with most of the swirls and scratches.

Also got some of Menerza Glaze as well. woohoo

The menzerna twins are an excellent choice with a PC and LC pads.......

An orange LC pad with IP and a white LC pad with FPII work wonders for me......

If you want pro Menzerna polishes and don't mind spending the money then the PO83 (po85rd3.01) US version, and po106ff or po85rd are the best choices. They can be bought at detailersdomain.com. They are $49.95 for a 32oz. bottle but work excellent at removing scratches, swirls, and holograms.

I was confused mainly by those 2. Whats least and most abrassive. too late now I guess. If IP doesnt work which of those would be the next step up in abrassivness?

The Super Intensive Polish (aka3.01). Menzerna usa calls it po83 so there is no confusion.

On a rotory with a polish pad is all you need.

Strongest to least abrasive is

PO34 Powergloss - menzernas only compound

PO83 (aka po85rd3.01) power polish

po106ff - final finish

po85rd - final finish

Super Intensive Polish also known as PO83 which is also known as po85rd3.01 has more cut than plain IP, but it finishes pretty darn well even though it has more cut than IP.

po85rd has the least cut to it and its meant for finishing after PO83 if needed. po106ff is also a finishing polish, but it has more cut than po85rd and less than po83. These three polishes are ideally suited for the super hard Ceramiclears, but they can also be used on regular clears.

If you just need a heavier cut than IP, you can use Power Gloss if you want to stick with the Menzerna line. Power Gloss is half the price of PO83, but it does not finish down nicely like PO83 and it dusts a good bit. If you want other alternatives, look into Hi Temp's Extreme cut or Meguiar's #83 or their #85 Diamond Cut or Chemical Guys Diamond Cut 1000, etc. Make note that some of these heavier cut products are better suited to a rotary, so keep that in mind when looking into product specifics.

If you're using a PC, another way to increase the aggressiveness is to use a smaller pad (i.e. a 4" pad instead of a 6" pad). You can also increase your working pressure and or shrink your work area down in size for more aggressive work. If you're using a rotary, you can increase your pad speed, increase pressure and or shrink your work area, all of which generally increase your cut. In addition, you can use a more aggressive pad or go to a wool pad if you're using a rotary.
