Concierge Services

I have seen a few select detailers marketing this as a premium service to their clients.

After a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided that this is something that I would also be interested in offering. This is a quick plagiarized adaptation of the description:

"Welcome to the ultimate in car maintenance for discretionary owners who require complete maintenance for automobile collections, investments and daily driving vehicles. The Detail Concierge Service is an exclusive service for clients that require their automobiles be maintained in an impeccable state of ready on their time, at their location. We understand the importance of high standards, privacy and ultimate discretion.

On a pre-scheduled basis, we maintain all aspects of car ownership, cleaning, fueling, maintenance and regular service. Other services include complete scheduling, delivery and representing the owner's interest when working with dealers, repair facilities and shops.

  • Complete car care, fueling, detailing, and general maintenance

  • Work with dealers, repair shops, all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair.
  • Organization and storage of your complete service history in our data base for reminders of future service needs.
  • Assistance in insurance claims and research into warranty issues

  • Work with dealers and 3rd party sellers to help determine your next vehicle purchase and price negotiation with New and Used car buying assistance.
  • Consignment sales service offers our clients the same resources and experience dealerships use to sell their vehicle at a fair price while making all arrangements for test drives and incoming inquiries about the sale.

Before we return the vehicle, we clean the dashboard, door panels, steering wheel, as well as vacuum interior and clean the wheels and tires.

With our concierge service we created a clean and friendly environment that allows our clients to do whatever they want while we provide first class service to them and their vehicles."

For those that do this, how do you market it, how do you charge, and are there any additional insurance issues that are involved?

Any comments or suggestions are also welcome. :nixweiss

Wow! Sounds like something that could either be a big hit, or no one bothers. I would definitely want to try this service out down the road.. Interesting for sure!

This will be the future of my company, without a doubt. In the area that I'll be living, this type of full-service car care/maintenance management would be very beneficial to my clients. I've thought about charging an hourly rate of sitting at the dealership/service shop, maybe a management fee for keeping records, things like that. It would probably be a service that is billed via mail, not paid directly on-site. I'm going to be heavily pursuring this idea, and I'm glad you brought it up. I'm sure you'll get plenty of people telling you 'not' to do it...

I am a detailer and I polish out swirls, correct paint defects and create shine. I'd go crazy sitting at the dealership like a stooge. I love what I do. I don't love fueling or taking cars to the bodyshop.

I'll pass.

I, too, am a detailer, but I am also a businessman and entrepreneur. If I wanted to do nothing but polish swirls and detail then I would work as a technician at a detail shop. But I've been there and I don't like it.

I operate a service business for executive clients and anything that I can do to offer those clients a top-notch and worry-free experience that will increase profits and enhance my image is worth consideration. I love what I do as well.

Joe, I know you run a successful detail business as well, but I don't have nearly the resources, reputation, or staff that you have so I add value in other ways. You may think of sitting at a dealership or body shop as a stooge wasting time. I think of it as a way to form positive relationships with other automotive services and to hand out more business cards to prospective clients.

As I am currently looking at this, it will be an additional up-sell over my regular maintenance plan. The Concierge service will be an additional monthly charge as well as $XX per hour for unscheduled services.

My goal is to be eternally invaluable to my clients and their vehicle.
