Collinite Needs

I wish Collinite would come out with a spray wax and a No-Rinse wash and wax of their own. I have seen some threads where people would try to make 845 a spray but that`s not the same as I would think you need to have it flash and buff. If anyone knows of a formula using 845 and using it like a traditional spray wax I`m all ears.

Sadly, Collinite is becoming more and more archaic. I wouldn’t expect any new products from them any time soon.

David, you have OCW already. Doesn`t that do what you want? Also McKees Fast Wax is a simple carnuba spray wax.

I think you have to thin it out too much to give the durability benefits you see from it now. The entire reason OCW won’t last as long as 845 would.

But OCW, Mckees fast wax, Duragloss AW all good choices as toppers. Even d156.

Hmmm...care to expatiate upon that? Inquiring minds and all that...

Same here, I`d expect them to keep making the same stuff until they close the doors. Just the VOC-reg changes seemed to upset their apple cart enough that I was glad they got through it.

Dave,

We appreciate your input on this matter. We are currently working toward a quick detailer hopefully for the end of this upcoming year.

I’m glad they’re finally coming out with something new. I was afraid they were getting stuck in the past.

Same here, looks like I jumped the gun with my assumptions.

Now if FK would just come up with a replacement for their long-gone liquid...

I followed this from AG forum. Some Collinite products need to be promoted a bit better. I went through a ton of products trying to find one that cleaned and protected my exhaust tips. I had a bottle of Collinite #850, not even sure when I got it. I tried it a few weeks ago and all the nasty stuff came off easily and left a nice protective coating. I tried to find posts about #850 and found only a couple of mentions over the years. How could such a good product be buried? It will be my go to product for exhaust tips from now on. I wonder how it works on wheels or metals in the engine compartment?

In the past I used 850 on the undercarriage of my Cadillac and Audi. Yes, it cleans metal nicely. I haven’t had the need to use it again for some time and IIRC it dried up on my shelf. I would keep in indoor climates to avoid this.

Used on my chrome rims, not coated, cleaned even where the outline of the previous weights were. It left the chrome with a carnuba glow.

They did come out with 325 during the year. It works very well being a cleaner wax, I always covered it in 476, 885 or 845 as I do not know the durability of 325 on it`s own as cleaner waxes are not known for durability so I would coat it with proven contenders.

That’s good information. I’ll bring mine inside. It’s too good to go to waste. Definitely an undiscovered gem. The closest thing to it was so P21 Metal Cleaner, but the P21 doesn’t leave any protection behind.
