Hello again,

Just wondering if anyone has used these two together? If Collinite 476 is a great winter wax and Klasse sealant is awesome then the two should give long lasting protection. What are everyone's thoughts?

Thanks

Collinite has very stong solvents. So it would probably degrade the sealant.

I agree with Ron the solvents are very strong. Any Collinite wax does not play well with other waxes or sealants when used as an LSP. Although you cannot see it the solvents they are basically acting like a cleaner. Also I think its a waste to top 476 or IW with another coat of the same because of the solvents as well. It is good as a base coat of wax and then you can top it with say a Natty's or something with little solvent. Then there are no durability issues:rockon

Last winter I applied Poorboys exp, and topped it with a coat of Collinite 476 about 48 hours after. I had beading on the truck all winter long, and it remained somewhat smooth for most of the winter. That is saying alot based on the conditions we experience up here in Maine. Perhaps this would have been achieved just as well with Collinite alone, but since I can't add another coat midwinter, it gave me a better piece of mind.

Over the years, everything has changed in my personal search for the perfect wax/sealant. The one constant is Collinite. Believe it or not I've been using it for 40 years! Some waxes and sealants are easier and will out "shine" it but IME nothing will outlast it. Even in the heat and rain of a south Alabama summer.

I like to use collinite on wheels mostly, I have used it for paint a few times, and found it is very durable. One winter I did 4 coats of K-SG and followed with #16 :wow: I got a little carried away and it truly looked as if my car had this crazy plastic wet glow.
