Collinite 476 Very Hard?

Recently purchased 476 and tried it on a 2007 ridgeline the other day. While the look was nice the wax was very hard and difficult to apply to the pad and spread. Is this normal?

All of my other waxes melt when I dip my pad in the tin but this one doesnt.

Yeah, that *is* normal. Best I can say is a) most get used to it and b) most put an excessive amount of wax on the pad anyhow, doesn't take much.

I apply 99% of my 476S by PC/Cyclo, so the spreading isn't a big deal for me.

See how you like its other characteristics and decide if it's right for you.

i did use the pc with a 4inch pad, I think i am used to seeing a bit of film where I lay the wax down and the collinite did not do that was i was worried i was not applying enuff.

The finish was nice I would say more shiny than wet but it was easy to buff off.

yea 476 is hard but it may soften abit when its warmer

I usually see a very light film when applying it

did you use it on a light colored car?

yeah used it on a 2007 silver ridgeline but only on one panel, i didnt think it was spreading right so i did the rest with pink16. This way I can tell how the durability is to our mix.

i usually mash the 4" pad and spin it a few times to get wax all over then if i have to much ill dab it on a few panels then start spreading it on speed 3 or 4 until its very thin

then the pad is primed it doesn't take much more wax to keep it applying thin

Sometimes I think there must not be any 476S left on the pad, but when I wipe it over something like shiny black plastic or chrome I'm surprised to see wax being left behind after all.

See how the areas you did with 476S compare with the areas you did with the FK pink.

Try the Collinite 845 which I use almost exclusively. Goes on real easy and buff off easy too. I and my customers live within 1/4 mile of the beach and the 845 wears very well in the salt-air climate.
